Still under a family Covid lockdown, Day 5 of stuck on the property. Sat out in the autumn sun with a coffee, a book, some music and my camera waiting for the fantail to arrive. It did but was not very co-operative today and mainly stayed in the neighbour's trees - see next pic in my stream.

Tent pegging (sometimes spelled tent-pegging or tentpegging) is a cavalry sport of ancient origin, and is one of only ten equestrian disciplines officially recognised by the International Equestrian Federation. Used narrowly, the term refers to a specific mounted game with ground targets.
Whilst I drank tea on Sunday Pam knocked up this nice bag to put our clothes pegs in. All stiched by her fair hand.
This fella, or someone who looked a lot like him, used to sit prominently up high, out in front of the inn which shared his name. When new owners took over, renovated and changed the name of the inn, they put this guy around to the side, named him Petey the Pirate, and posted a sign inviting one and all to take pictures with him. I don't believe he's the original Peg Leg, but he does provide some nostalgia for those of us who remember the inn and its restaurant fondly.
A bit of whimsy, and with both legs in the air. Now, if I could just get one of our local gulls to perch on top of that parrot!
