Cyprus taken on my Canon EOS 100D

A photo of my neighbour and her (now deceased) dog. The dog was ailing and beyond her years, but hanging on to life and her master's love. The dog passed away less than a week after this shot was taken.

Details of a sunflower post bloom as it's petals deepend and twist into golden tones.

Passion was regarded as a motive power, a spring, and an incentive. Great deeds are done by those who are filled with ruah, with pathos.

Today was a little beyond. It started when someone hacked into one of my accounts and spent $1300 on my stored credit card. Then there was the ER visit for Robin, who somehow managed to get a chunk of wood wedged halfway down her thumbnail and needed it extracted. I don’t know if it was really worth an ER visit, but the urgent care receptionist sent us there, and I know for sure I wasn’t about to try to take it out myself. The thing about today is that it’s still not over.

Mary Emerson, who died at age 29 in 1817, and whose infant daughter is buried next to her in Hancock Cemetery, Quincy MA.

Here side by side beneath the clod,

The mother and the babe repose,

Their spirit's rest in heaven with God,

Their bodies free from pains and woes.

A husband left,sad and forlorn,

An only sister left to mourn,

Fond parents too, and brothers left,

Her once loved form to mourn bereft.

Calm and serene, she bade farewell,

Her earthly friends to see no more.

I leave this world, said she to dwell,

With Christ forever, ever more.

Elly went to a marvelous haberdashery: there were great big balls of yarn in every colour one could possibly imagine.

Stumbled upon this tomb complex without knowing what it was- Fantastic!

Here is another shot from the Buddhist Temple nestled in the Honolulu mountains. For the first part of the story, click: www.pathosphotos.com/archives/736.

After the meditation jam, I met up with my family and walked around the temple as the sun was starting to set. I found this huge statue of Buddha standing on a lotus flower and the sky was interesting so I shot it and processed it in monochrome to give it a timeless feel.

Come for the music, stay for the existential crisis.

"As irreverent as it is poignant" (Australian Arts Review), this classical cello recital plays out like a piece of performance art run by a masterly jester blurring artistry, humanity, and insanity. Featuring Suite Number One in G Major by JS Bach and personal comedic pieces crafted in Idiot classes, Karen fuses in a healthy dose of pathos tackling identity, expectations, and success through the eyes of a fool.

lit. "the pathos of things";

the gentle wistfulness at the transience of things,

the deep involvment in the beauty of life,

the sense of melancholy and joy,

with the consequent awareness of the sadness of existence.
