A commissioned quilt - I was given the embroidery (the recipient's Great Aunt's work) and asked to do a larger version of my embroidered squares quilt - but she also liked this quilt too. So I did a version of it.

Finished size approx 147cm x 122cm - 58" x 48".

All thrifted and upcycled cotton and linen.

Made in 1977 and now being used by the next generation.

Not sure the colours have come out very accurate but i think i like it. I think in person the background looks ever so slightly less white

She combined modern fabrics with lots of feedsack and vintage and outlined some of the sections with gorgeous glossy silk thread, which is a fun, cute touch, too. Loooove it! I have a birthday coming up and my hubby decided to give me an early present. An iPad! Lucky me, hey? So of course I had to make it a cover. I decided to do some scrap busting (even the stamped bits were leftover scraps from practice stamping) and tried quilt-as-you-go which was fun. I used the tutorial by OneShabbyChick: oneshabbychick.typepad.com/one_shabby_chick/2011/01/an-ip... for the case which is great! I think I like it!
