I love reading Crazy Mom Quilts blog and while perusing her tutorials I see one for a 9-patch block. From there I find this beautiful rainbow 9-patch quilt. So I decided to use Amanda Jean's tutorial and the rainbow quilt as inspiration and make my own! I have two pink blocks done, with four more pink cut out ready to sew together! Seattle has a neighborhood garden program called P-Patch. This tool shed was built by the Linden Orchard P-Patch members.
Ava and Evan, in the pumpkin patch the second time, after the sun went behind the clouds. I didn't get too many more pictures of them out there, but I was happy that they let me get this one. Of course, Evan was distracted by the apple cannons that were happening in the distance behind me. (The pumpkin that Ava's holding here was her pick from the front area.)
Artist O.V. "Verne" Shaffer completed this commissioned sculpture in 2004. I learned today this spot is a patch applied after it was damaged during transportation to its site in downtown Beloit.
Verne died this week at the age of 93. His public art is all over Beloit and Wisconsin, and many other states. I contributed photos for his retrospective exhibit and book in 2017. He gave me a signed copy of the book with a very moving note inside.

This was the third idea I had for the Mushroom ATC swap. I patched the mushrooms together from old cardstock scraps. I weathered the stalks using an emery fingernail file. I tatted the lace from some green tatting thread I found at a thrift store (severely tangled so most of the stuff I've made with it is small).
