Patches is a sweet little calico Manx who has been at the refuge since 2008. She is incontinent due to a birth defect, and she requires daily hygiene cleanings. Because of her special needs, her chances of adoption are considerably lower than our other cats and she will likely be a lifelong resident at the Goathouse Refuge.

She loves people and getting attention. Every night at dinnertime, Patches knows it's time to get in the cage with her name on it! Some of our cats are caged at night if they require a special diet, which Patches does. We can also monitor her litterbox this way. In the morning, she is happy to come out and spend the day lounging on the futon or exploring the outside area, although she never goes far! She's a gentle little homebody cat.

Glue was applied & the patches taped in place. Here is how the outside looks now. The important thing is having the grain aligned with the top & that looks fine.

At this point, since the back & sides have been oversprayed with both dark brown & shaded black in spots where previous repairs have been done, we decided it would be best to just refinish the sides & back. What little remains of the original finish doesn't justify trying to do extensive (which makes it expensive) touch up.
