Off the main road, it's about a five mile gravel road in to Max Patch, a bald mountain outside Asheville, North Carolina. But when you're there on the prettiest day of the year, it goes by pretty fast.
I was never actually in the guides. They wouldn't let me join as I was so much trouble in Brownies. But the left patch is a Girl Guides 80s patch of a Kingfisher, the middle is my Pixies patch (I was a firster but I've used my firster and seconder patches on another shirt and coloured them) and the last is a Brownies achievement patch for being funny and entertaining, I believe.

Friends and family gathered at Oars and Paddles Park in Indian Harbour Beach, Florida, to celebrate Hunter Babcock's 4th birthday party Oct. 24, 2021. The gifts, games, cake, and decorations paid homage to Hunter's favorite theme: dinosaurs!
After the party, Hunter and his family visited a pumpkin patch at Satellite Beach Methodist Church to select the perfect pumpkins to carve for Halloween.

There were several railroad telephone lines entering the depot. This box was used to patch together different lines in case in case there was a problem with one line somewhere. It worked a little bit like a phone company switchboard with jacks that could be inserted into plugs for the various lines. This box was located in the Waupaca depot office. The cut off phone cable still comes into the room. This box ended up being stored in the signal maintainers shed at Holbeck Street.

Pictures from our usual visit to the pumpkin patch around this time every year. We always have a good time. This year was no exception.
One from the local beach. The light was breaking through the cloud cover and creating some beautiful patches of light over the sea. I wanted a long exposure with nearly all sky and the sunlit sea but it never quite came off. I liked the combination of sea movement and water movement in this one.
A long exposure taken around midday. Handily it is possible to look through the live view on the 5D when the light is so strong, so you don't have to keep undoing the filter. I have a Big Stopper on order but there is a really long delay. I hope that will solve the problem for good there. I am also thinking about a Genus Fader filter, if you have any experience of one, please share your thoughts. I am sure the Singh Ray is better but I can't afford it I think. I am concerned about the colour cast which I have seen as being green? Would love to know what you think as I have seen one for £85. Thanks for stopping by.
