Most of these plants are volunteers. The potatoes that Stu didn't dig up last fall are now coming up. He also planted more blue/red potatoes in the patch so we should be eating a lot of potatoes this year!
This patch features the "Oozlefinch", the unofficial mascot of the Air Defense Artillery. Legend has it that back in 1905, an Army captain stumbled out of an officers club (presumably drunk), and saw a "large flightless bird." The legend of the Oozlefinch grew from there until it became the unofficial mascot of the ADA, complete with a statue and the motto "If it flies, it dies. Blazing skies."

Finally SimCity is starting to feel like it should with Patch 7.0 introducing traffic fixes and a bridge/tunnel tool.
I finally have a 100K population city without a traffic jam going in/out!

This patch belonged to my grandfather (Alexander Wilkins - "WIlkie") who drove for McLean out of the Boston / Woburn terminal from the mid 50's through 1971.
I've put it up here as a way to share it with former McLean employees .

I cut the rot out, then made the hole rectangular. The patch is made of 3/8" plywood. It extends about an inch down between the chine guards (had to hammer it in place) and it has thickened epoxy all around. A larger back block made from 1/4" wood is inside the boat, and this patch is currently screwed to it. After everything cures, I will remove the screws and fill the holes with epoxy.
Another patch added. This one is from Matthew Porter's Monkey World. The ABC book Monkey is one of my son's favorite characters.

Today, I went to the opening of the Flickr Nottingham's Connected 2013 exhibition. Three of my photos were included in the audio visual presentation shown during the day. The guest speakers were really interesting, and it was great to finally put a face to some of the names I have come to know over the past few months. I have been really inspired by all the work on display today, and hope to be included at next year's exhibition.
