Flea Market Sundays Series.
For this to be one of my personal favorite shots in this series and imperfect as it is...well, that has to mean something right?
Children of the vendors are often bored and seek out adventures all their own during the day -- I can attest to as much. What caught my eye here was that you just don't see kids playing like this much anymore, that is, without a phone or video game controller in hand.
I have one other frame with this boy playing with his brother, each on their side of the fence, but really liked the energy here, of the boy climbing because his little brother dared him to.
If anyone ever asks, why I posted this or why I like it? My answer: because it's Old School.

committee protest for 30 Megawatt electricity from Golaingoal hydro power
project.

CHITRAL: Chitral town power committee held protest
rally and public meeting. The rally was started from Chew Bridge leading by
representatives of all political and religious parties passing through Shahi
Bazar road and ended at polo ground Chitral. Where the rally was converted into
a huge public meeting presiding over by Shahzada Iftikharuddin Member National
Assembly from Chitral. Addressing to the public meeting leaders of different political
and religious parities said that work on Golaingoal hydro power house has been completed
75% and the federal government want to auction through tender carrying of electricity
via transmission line from Golaingoal to Temergara directly by ignoring
Chitral. They said that Chitrali nation will never allow the Federal government
to do so until they establish a separate grid station locally by giving 30
Megawatt electricity to Chitral on subsidize rate. They said that all resources
for this power house use locally from Chitral like water, land and local people
badly suffered but it is totally injustices to deprive Chitral from this power
house. They said that all parties leader unanimously attended this public
meeting to show their unity on this national issue irrespective to party
affiliation.
Addressing
on the occasion MNA Chitral Shahzada Iftikharuddin said that I have already put
up the case before ministry of water and power with the request to provide 30
Megawatt electricity from this power house as well as for up-gradation of local
hydro power house of Singor upto 4 megawatt. He said that Chairman Wapda was
also coming to Chitral but due to flight cancellation his visit was postponed. Through
a unanimous resolution they demanded from federal government should to start
work on establishment of a grid station within two weeks and assure the power
committee in writing that they will provide 30megawattt power to Chitral
otherwise they will continue their strike until fulfillment of their genuine
demand. They also demanded for improving in main transmission line from Dir
because due to low voltage most of home appliances were damaged.

Meanwhile
trade union Chitral observe complete shutter down strike to register their
protest against this decision of federal government of supplying 106 megawatt
electricity through transmission line from golaingoal Chitral to Temergara. A large
number of people belonging to all walk of life attended the protest rally and
public meeting which was ended with the prayer words of Maulana Abdul Shakoor

632 passes the hind end of 499 at Elm Grove. 499 has the arduous task of pulling it's tonnage up the strenuous grade west of Milwaukee, while 632 can pretty much coast into town from Duplainville.
Took this on the road from Embo to Dornoch whilst out cycling last weekend (it was a long, steep hill so it was a good excuse for a rest).

People walk past the cars on display at the Mid Devon Show.
On the 13th September 2014 no.34007 rolls into Medstead and Four Marks with a diverted Sitmar Line boat train from Southampton Eastern Docks to Waterloo.
Today was the culmination of a long road for my wife, my dear Karen Sue. It was her last day as a paid employee. She's retiring after 15 years as an elementary school teacher, 21 years working with volunteers, both as a gift shop manager and then director in a hospital, and two and a half years working as an activity director for a nursing home.
It was time to take a break.
Here, Karen is with Nicki, her assistant who is taking over as activity director. The card that Karen is holding has been signed by most of the staff and residents. As it says: "We will miss you!" that was the theme of the reception that was held at the home this afternoon. Lots of smiles and a few tears. Everyone sad to see Karen leave but happy for her.
Karen puts her whole self into the work she's doing, whether as a teacher, working with volunteers in a hospital or here as an activity director. Many nights would be spent working on a special project or some paperwork, or a report that just couldn't get done during the day.
We're looking forward to enjoying the next phase of our lives, my Karen Sue and I. Tomorrow is the beginning!
Here's to you, my wonderful bride, my partner, my love. You deserve a break today, and every day to come.
Shot on the Malecon, the long seafront road in Havana I'd set the camera up on a tripod and waited for a passing car.
The grand old buildings that line the Malecon are in a particularly bad state of repair after years of exposure to the salt sea air but are gradually being restored to their former glory.

Taken today during a new year drive. I was planning to get more shots of the stunning scenery but it was blistery cold and started snowing, and frankly, my delicate head from a night which ended at 6am got the better of me.
