A photo taken from behind 47016 on an Aberdeen to Inverness service sees 47118 26043 prepare for passenger duty whilst 20139 awaits other work on Inverness depot on 4th October 1983.
The 47 and 26 combination later worked the 1448 Inverness to Aberdeen which I had as far as Forres.
The Brush was withdrawn in March 1991, the 26 went in January 1993 and is preserved on Gloucestershire & Warwickshire Steam Railway and owned by the Cotswold Mainline Diesel Group. The 20 ended its service in May 1991.

A westbound NS intermodal train is about to pass beneath the former Erie mainline in Brady Lake, Ohio. The distance on the bridge is to Salamanca, New York. Today the ex-Erie is used by the Akron Barberton Cluster Railway as far east as Ravenna, Ohio.
A fair amount of demolition is underway on the approaches to Leicester station as 45052 "NIMROD" heads past the locomotive depot with a service from Derby - St Pancras on 5th February 1988.

Delivered from English Electric Vulcan Foundry in June 1964 [D6742], this locomotive would complete a host of allocations around the BR network and in turn join the EWS fleet. Allocated to the reserve fleet in 2004, the 37/0 was sold for preservation in 2011, being moved to Warcop on the Eden Valley Railway.
