Passing In Pawtucket
Providence and Worcester Railroad's Valley Falls based local PR3 is on their way to Cranston Yard and the Port of Providence as they pass the Amtrak MOW Base located in the remains of the once vast New Haven Railroad Northrup Avenue hump yard. They are rolling west down track 7 at about MP 187.8 of Amtrak's New Haven Line main (the NEC) just about to the Providence city line that I'm almost standing on.
PW GP38-2s 2008 and 2006 (built new for the then only 7 yr newly independent road by EMD in Dec. and Feb. 1980 respectively) lead the short train while at right MBTA F40PH-3C 1051 shoves on the rear of inbound Keolis/MBTA train 814 from Wickford Jct. on Main 2.
