Sulphur-crested Cockatoo (Cacatua galerita)

One of a pair that flew over the Heathdale - Glen Orden Wetlands yesterday.

An April winter storm left a dusting of snow in the area of Mt. Pisgah. This shot is an extreme crop of an image from my wide angle lens. I didn’t have time to switch lenses before the fog lifted.

I have been absent from flickr for a while. I hope to catch up with everyone.

We are here for only a moment, visitors and strangers in the land as our ancestors were before us. Our days on earth are like a passing shadow, gone so soon without a trace.

1 Chronicles 29:15

Split second timing in Westminster, London. It came and went in seconds :-))

Taken from across the road at the rear of Buckingham Palace with a Nikon D7000 way back in 2013. Nose to tail traffic, with only a second between each of the vehicles.

Crested Tern (Thalasseus bergii)

We saw a few Terns flying along the river.

Happy Wing Wednesday!

The Short-eared Owl and the female Harrier flew at each other and came quite close together, but they never actually touched. Opportunities to photograph this kind of behavior are rare for me. In the last two months I have gone into the field 11 times for a total of around 17 hours. This is the one time everything came together. Shot with Sony a1, Sony 400mm 2.8 lens, plus 2x, 1/1600, f/7.1, ISO 1250

A little waterfall in a colorful place along the Wanaque River, New Jersey, a favorite place for fishermen.

These barn swallows arrived at this tree at the same time, with different branches as their destinations.

Back in Düsseldorf and on the street again :))

The young Woman did half smile after I took the shot... but then we were just like ships passing in the night:))

Both the boat and the seagull making their way past my Dad sitting out there enjoying the calm cool October evening in Maryland.

Happy Bench Monday

This image was taken under strict supervision by the charter organiser, crews of each loco including the guards and official GCR Train manager to be certain we were in a safe position well away from each running line. Only a small number of photographers were allowed in this location at any one time! Certainly an experience I wont forget in a hurry!

Love the cloudscapes we get around these parts, as opposed to today’s flat, bland, lifeless cloud we have today, have a great weekend
