This is allegedly CSX train Q639, headed to TRRA's Madison Yard from Rose Lake Yard at CP Junctionon the Illinois Transfer...but from this angle, looks like vintage BNSF.

Progress Rail Leasing has the market on motive power this day, with former ATSF SD75Ms 238, 231, and 250 doing the honors, and all in their as-built numbers, not counting a brief encounter with the number "8" during their reign on BNSF.

Luckily, the clouds from winter storm Avery have rolled back just in time for a bit of sun before sunset.

Can't wait to cab this one. Lots of parallax, and a nice tog-tooth pattern.

As they made their way through the hamlet, the barge master was perplexed at how, at the scenery's horizon, the meandering canal seemed to be swallowed by a tunnel of light. How very metaphysical that, of all places, Fate would have that happen in Lot, he thought, fleetingly, before returning to urgent matters at hand. The barge master is a practical, pragmatic man.

I've never been much of a "people photographer", so this is a bit of a change for me.

How is it? What do I need to do differently? Please, don't be afraid to be honest. :)

Guilty pleasure is watching the green lantern scenes from the green labtern movie and skipping everything else in between. there I got inspired to make this parallax figure based of the movie. I think it looks quite accurate and good.

Parallax faces the Man of Steel

Trastervere

Trastevere is a corruption of trans Tiberim (beyond the Tiber). Ancient Rome was founded on seven hills located on the left bank of the Tiber. The right bank (trans Tiberim) belonged to the Etruscans and most likely to the town of Veius (today Isola Farnese). A famous episode of early Roman history makes reference to the defence of Rome which took place on the timber bridge which crossed the river (Ponte Sublicio). Only after the defeat of Veius and the expansion of the Roman rule to most of Central Italy did the right bank of the river become an area of stable Roman settlements. However only in 275 A.D. Trastevere was included by the emperor Aureliamus in the pomerium (the city border) of Rome and it was protected by walls. In the XVIIth century Urbanus VIII redesigned the borders of Trastevere by building new walls which included in the rione most of the Janiculum hill.

The displacement or the difference in apparent direction of an object as seen from two different points not on a straight line with the object... also I find it hard to see the "whole" frame in the small view finder, guess I forgot I have a head 😄 Camera works great (at least at fast speeds)

Parallax is a displacement or difference in the apparent position of an object viewed along two different lines of sight, and is measured by the angle or semi-angle of inclination between those two lines.

Amelia with my Voigtlander Bessa T.. sadly with parallax issues where the hotshoe viewfinder showed Amelia in the centre of the frame! At least it's good to know for future use. :)

Parallax and Green Lanterns in Lego!

In Brickest Day..

In Blockest Night...

No Clone brand shall escape my sight..

I wanted to do something bigger with these guys and finally got round to it! A few little flaws here and there but overall happy :) I decided we know what Lego Hal looks like so had him being overwhelmed by the delightful Parallax once again, and it certainly would be a nice figure with that shoulder armour. Lego Kilowog was a different beast, I'd seen minifigure versions before and felt they just didnt work as he should be bigger. With that in mind I developed a midi figure to sit between Hulk size and Minifigure size ;) Ch'p is the friends Squirrel with a new paint job and the rest of them are pretty self explanatory!

A quick trip back to this years London Open House 2015 and my favourite building - the Dorsett Hotel in Shepherd's Bush, London.

Now, on one hand, I really wanted to use this armour piece on a green lantern. However, I couldn't imagine regular Hal Jordan donning such grand armour. Then I remembered that one time Hal lost coast city, slaughtered the entire green lantern corp and went mad. So I went for a Parallax look instead.

My version tries to be good, choosing to look at the bigger picture, and try not to focus on just one area. He re-cast his ring into a crystal, and set it atop a staff, wielding it like some sort of space-Gandalf.
