I had trouble sending a package abroad from Iran mostly to do with the item of clothing enclosed. DHL, Amarex and TNT wouldn't send such items to the US and I didn't want to count on the regular mail.
As I was heading to India I thought I'd do it from there and although our hotel in Mumbai was very close to a DHL point, the price was silly dollar - outdoing the pack value by 3-times.
I then took the package to Goa and tried to do regular post - but the regular post requires special packaging - as shown in construction above.
The post office in Goa was a task, what with the slow service, rude locals who assumed that if you talk in the queue, you are not queuing. On the second attempt the guy behind the desk just left for the bank during the afternoon, leaving a massive queue. Third time lucky though, we got it sent off rather cheap and it took a week and a half.

Virginia Army National Guard Soldiers from from the Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, High Yield Explosive Enhanced Response Force Package, or CERFP, work in confined spaces, break and breach, life and haul, shore and crib, all at the CERFP Heavy Collapse Specialist Course taught Aug. 11-15, 2014, by Response International Group, or R.I.G., at Camp Gruber, Okla. Seven Virginia Guard Soldiers attended the course, along with fellow CERFP Soldiers from the Colorado and Hawaii National Guards, which required them to work through various scenario-based training missions in 18-hour shifts, from 6 a.m. to midnight each day of the course. The course builds on the knowledge gained by Soldiers at the CERFP Basic Course, and focuses on the use of heavy equipment, improvising to solve problems, complete the mission and save lives, while providing the Soldiers experience at a variety of different training venues that mimic different types of disaster sites the Soldiers could encounter.
