Walking the Outer Hebrides

Outer Banks, NC

A dark, dreary day.

This photo was submitted to the Annual Outer Banks Photo Contest which is sponsored by Village Realty Outer Banks Vacation Rentals

Historically, this park was the outer gardens (specifically, the rose garden, which is what the name means) of Topkapi Palace. In 1911, a few years before the end of the Ottoman Empire, the grounds were turned into a public park.

As far as parks go, I won't put it in the top ten of parks I've seen around the world. It is, however, nice and, in a city of 16 million people with little green space, it's definitely a refreshing change of scenery.
