View of the ocean from the old location of the lighthouse. They used a retaining wall and sandbags to try to protect the lighthouse in the 80's and 90's.

A holiday added onto the end of a work visit allowed us to visit Callanais Stones, Arnol Blackhouses and Gearannan Blackhouse Village. Returning on the ferry from Tarbert also gave us chance to visit the Isle of Harris Distillery - quite impressive all round trip!
Parked to the SE below Foreside Hill. Then used track initially alongside the M74 then moorland to avoid the new quarry so stayed to the south. 8 km walk in 2 hours.
