She's talking in her sleep
It's keeping me awake and Anna begins to toss and turn
And every word is nonsense but I understand and
Oh Lord, I'm not ready for this sort of thing
Her kindness bangs a gong
It's moving me along and Anna begins to fade away
It's chasing me away
She disappears and
Oh Lord, I'm not ready for this sort of thing
Anna begins. Counting crows
The Callanish Stones are an arrangement of standing stones placed in a cruciform pattern with a central stone circle.
They were erected in the late Neolithic era, and were a focus for ritual activity during the Bronze Age. They are near the village of Callanish on the west coast of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides, Scotland (source: Wikipedia).

I came across this old barn sitting out in the middle of a field, loved the way the sun was beating on it, the clouds and frosty ground give it a special setting.

I found this seagull perched on a post leading out to the rougher waters of the area surrounding Venice. There were boats by each home or building there because after all it is only one of two ways to navigate Venice. The other is by walking.

This is a view of Currituck Sound on the Outer Banks of North Carolina heading north from Duck to Corolla. The Atlantic Ocean is on the right of where I am. This photo was taken several years ago. I sure wish I was there now. The ocean breezes would be quite a relief from the heat and humidity.

Does the little bit on the end of this shell look like a little shell eye to you too?
I like to think that there is a whole little world inside with little shell creatures looking at live feeds from the "eye" on little TV screens, analysing response tactics to the environment on their little shell computers, initiating their outer shell of silence until any potential danger has passed, and then cheering and jumping about and giving each other little shell creature high-fives. That little hole in the spirals under the eye is their emergency escape hatch I reckon. In an emergency, the ConchChime goes off and they throw a little shell creature ladder out the hole and make their escape while whatever they are escaping from is busy at the main entrance. There may have been a little hero shell creature stay behind to distract whoever they were escaping from, maybe named the Coral Crusader. I hope he/she made it out safely! Must be a tough life being a little shell creature, I'm exhausted just thinking about it!
PS - I like shells, but then again, who doesn't!
Mevagissey is a pretty little fishing port on the south side of Cornwall and is home to the second largest fishing fleet in the whole of the county. There are two harbours with the inner harbour dating from the 1700s. This was built on the remains of a much earlier harbour. The outer harbour, part of which is seen here, was added in 1888, but seriously damaged in a blizzard in 1891. The outer walls were rebuilt by 1897. Mevagissey was one of the first towns whose streets were lit by electricity, and the power came from a generator using pilchard oil. The small lighthouse seen here was also powered in this way.

Outer Moat, Sigiriya, Sri Lanka
The UNESCO World Heritage Site of Sigiriya is truly unique not only for its remaining ruins, but also for its stunning location.
The palace ruins on the summit of Sigiriya rock consist of several massive brick walls and pools, which were carved into the solid rock, and the sheer drop-offs on any side of the summit offer panoramic views in all directions.
The entry to the summit leads through massive Lion's claws which are the remains of what was once a much larger structure. In ancient times, the stairway lead straight into the mouth of a lion, and the name Sigiriya, which literally means Lions Rock, stems from this impressive monument.
The Royal gardens below the rock are surrounded by the outer moat and are among the most important and spectacular features of Sigiriya, and are considered to be among the oldest landscaped gardens in the world.

Cape Hatteras National Seashore, the Outer Banks of North Carolina, USA
This image taken with my 200-500mm AFS f/5.6 lens, hand-held while riding slowly in a tour jeep in search of the Wild Horses of the Outer Banks of N.C. (Really fond of this Nikkor lens)
As I get closer to Mevagissey the harbour arrangement becomes clearer. There is both an outer and inner harbour
