Here you can see the spindle completely naked. Note that on the left side the bearing race is exposed and that on the right end the cone is screwed on with the race.
The outer chunk of polystyrene from the point of impact was only being held on with my "Get a life. Get a bike." sticker. The impact was enough to break both layers.
We had a layover day which included a sail to Cape Lookout and hunting for shells. The boat mascot, this small pomeranian followed me all over the beach.
Once all the seams are sewn, remove unsightly threads ends and cut away excess material that will be hidden behind the panels. Glue the back of each panel and the square then attach them to the pockets.
Place the four strips along the folded edge of the larger fabric. Centralise them as best you can. If in doubt lay the wadded panels on top to ensure that once the panels are in place you won't see the edges. Pin the strips down.
