Outer Banks, North Carolina

The only allowed soundtrack (Dick Dale and His Del Tones - Misirlou)

Ok. I'm here in United States, and I'm totally in WOW-Mode.

During my American Vacation we decided to visit a couple of places. Last weekend we've gone to Outer BAnks and this is the first 'cityscape' I've shot during our trip. It was a so cinematic evening, and I swear I've heard guitar.... ;)

The designer calls for 3/4 inch (18 MM ) bottom panels on the hull bottom. As the forward portion of the hull has a tight bend and this can not be obtained with 3/4 material it is built with 1/2 (12 mm) and then a 1/4 (6 mm) skin is added. This provides a final thickness of 3/4 inch or 18 mm.

After visiting the Outer Hebrides a few years ago Mireille and myself had already re-visited the lower half of the string of Scottish islands last year, and this year we decided that we would re-visit the top 2 islands that were missed out last year.

Having already visited 8 Scottish islands so far on our May holiday (Isles of May, Mull, Iona, Rum, Eigg, Canna, Sanday, Skye), it was time to set sail for numbers 9 and 10 on our list - the Isles of Lewis and Harris which lie at the North end of the Western Isles/Outer Hebrides, and are to be found in the Atlantic Ocean off the West coast of Scotland.

This image was taken during our few days enjoying some of the places on Harris that we already know from previous visits, and a few new locations that we didn't have the chance to explore before.

The number 11 is Europe's longest circular bus route. The route was first operated as a complete circuit in 1926, as a link between the suburbs of Birmingham. In 2011 the bus route celebrated 85 years of service. The full circuit is 26 miles and takes two to three hours to complete, depending on traffic.

On this day at 8:00 pm, the beach would close due to the impending presence of endangered piping plover chicks. Our beach pass arrived in the mail that same morning. Of course we had to use it.

It was cold and very windy, but it was beautiful out there.

Outer coffin of Nepawershefyt.

This set of coffins was made to contain the body of Nepawershefyt, an important official at the temple of Amun in Karnak who lived around 990-940 BC. At this period people no longer had elaborately decorated tomb chapels, so they decorated the coffins instead.

Many of the scenes and text on the coffin are taken from the Book of the Dead. Spells and instructions to help the deceased in the afterlife.

I finally photographed this series I have been wanting to do for two years!

In March of 2018, Fortune Cookie Soap (a family run bath and soap company in Oklahoma) did a sailor moon themed limited edition line, called "Soap Scouts in the Name of FCS." The blind monthly box was released March 10th, 2018, which had six products. Then at the end of the month of March, then released the huge extended collection.

This photo series showcases the extended collection.

Yes, the outer senshi confiscated this 2-in-1 Shampoo & Conditioner which is dedicated to the Sailor Moon Opening Theme Song, called "Guardians"

I personally thought this product was dedicated to the guardian cats, Luna and Artemis. ;)

For the extended line product:

2-in-1 Shampoo & Conditioner

Guardians Scent Description:

Join together, fight evil by moonlight, and win love by daylight with sweet sugar plums. This blend will never turn it’s back on a friend, and it’s always there to defend. It’s the one on whom we depend! A cleaning shampoo and moisturizing conditioner team up to defend your hair from anything that tries to destroy it!

The Outer Senshi, specifically Uranus and Neptune, do have a highlighter compact called "Outer Scouts" dedicated to them as a tribute. I forgot to photograph it, so that will follow at a later date. The product description is as follows.

Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune unite in this incredibly cute highlighter with a variety of rainbow colors to match any skin tone! There are so many more fun things to do as adults, so highlight your day with the Outer Scouts Highlighter!

Our silky formula blends like a dream for a fresh-faced look. This breathtaking formula delivers a luminous finish that looks different from every angle. Brush this illuminating wonder along the highest points of the face—such as the cheekbones, bridge of the nose and Cupid’s bow. You’ll never go back to your old highlighter, the past is in the past.

P.S. - I think this product also suggests they are lovers and not cousins. =^.^=

Harris of Outer Hebrides is famed for its beaches. In truth, a fair part of its highly-indented coastline is very rocky. But where the coast of Harris is sandy, it does offer some of the very best beaches you will find anywhere. And perhaps the best of them all, certainly the largest and the most spectacular of them all, is Luskentyre Beach.

Luskentyre Bay bites deeply into the western side of South Harris. Although the isles are called Lewis and Harris, they are actually one single land mass. Luskentyre Beach is located just a few miles south of Tarbert. Tarbert is the capital of Harris, but it is also here that the island is so narrow that it almost becomes separated into two. Just like at Luskentyre, a deep indents have been carved so far into the land on both coastal sides of the island, that they almost meet in the middle to separate Harris and Lewis into two islands.

At high tide much of the bay is submerged, becoming part of the Sound of Taransay and looking out to the island of Taransay. This island gained media recognition after a BBC television programme based a group of people here for one year to live on the island's resources as 'castaways'.

With such a lovely view and completely unspoiled place, the decision was pretty fast - to camp here and enjoy the afternoon and sunset. One may feel eternity in places like this...
