Post-Show
After an amazing 30 minute set, Andrew quickly left the stage and found this corner, he spent a few minutes there by himself.
I was lucky enough to have the oppurtunity to follow him around Warped Tour all day, I have worked with him in the past and having another chance was amazing. Hopefully we will continue to work together.
Well what a remarkable oppurtunity....... I had literally stopped in Glusburn, crossed the road posted a letter and then re-crossed the road. In my sixth sense I had mentally become aware that this busy road was suddenly unusually quiet....... My alertness increased and then this came trundling around the corner................ Wow.....
Here we see what must be one of the last operating "Low Datum" Leyland T45 Roadtrains on the road today.
F499AEA is operated by L.A.Commercials of the Midlands and is seen here towing a Volvo FM12 6 wheeler steel truck through the village.
Right time Right place
Even with the long high pressure that has settled over Utah lately, I couldn't pass up the oppurtunity to go out to Stansbury Island. The cloudless haze did little to detract from the desert landscapes and still salt water. I can't wait to go back.

CEFX SD60 6014, very obviously a former SOO Line unit sits in the yard at JBS in Altoona. This was one of the units that came into town on NS 995 earlier in the afternoon, which I was unable to get a shot of, so the redemption oppurtunity was solid. October 22, 2017.
I got to test the Olympus Pen for two weeks for Salt Magazine. The original assignment read: photograph trees. Of course I cannot resist testing it on Lóis too. We had sun this morning and I took the oppurtunity to test in our tiny hallway. I wrapped Lóis in a fleece blanket and started the session. Lóis was very okay being wrapped in a blanket. Good girl. I used the pinhole art filter on the camera but edited & cropped afterwards in PS.
Another shot from Sunday morning out with the Ramble with Amble gang. As i had took many shots of the groyne in my earlier post i decided i would head for the eroded outlflow structure posts up towards the pier on Blyth Beach. As i splodged back to dryish sand i nnoticed that it was very close to sunset and began running as its quite a distance across to them and also i could do with shedding the winter flab lol. Anyhoo half way there i was dying and as i turned the sun broke the horizon! Not one to lose an oppurtunity i thought what the hell and planted the tripod if not only to rest on it haha. I took 2 shots here at different exposures with some blending in mind. Back in Photoshop i have opened both exposures then unveiled the darker exposure in the horizon area using a 50& Opacity right on the horizon then faded it back with a 30% opacity either side of the central area. Ive had to drop saturation abit to try and control the sun (must get a Reverse Grad) and messed a touch with curves and an unsharo mask.
What a morning this was! Thanks again to all of the Ramble Posse for being so friendly and helpfull and sorry for uploading yet another Blyth shot as youre all probably sick of them haha.

I was lucky enough to be given the oppurtunity to shoot at a new, amazing hotel in Colorado. The Black Monarch is a dark, curiosities, eccentric themed hotel that is a one of it's kind. It used to be a casino, brothel, and saloon back in the Gold Rush era, so as you can imagine, with all these unqiue qualities combined, I had such a fun, creative time shooting there. I felt so fortunate to be allowed to literally explore the whole space and shoot wherever we wanted to.

Pole Dancer: Megumi Yuzuki / 柚月恵
Couple of months ago I had this assignment to take some profile photos of a pole dancer, this was the first time for me to shoot someone doing this type of dance, and we did some very interesting stuff together. Her name is Megumi Yuzuki / 柚月恵, and she is one of the best pole dancers in Japan, she is very professional and also very easy to work with. We have also done some other shoots after this one, but the result from them I will upload later! In this article I will explain the strobist setup of the edgy lighting I've been using for her, and you can see some of the photos below!

In this shoot after a talk with my model, trying to analyze her I decided to go with some edgy lighting, thus putting some emphasize on her beautiful body lines. So I decided to use my strip lights from both sides diagonally and shoot without any light from the front side. I think this really created some images that show in a really good way her body structure. Then after some shots with only the strip lights, I thought to put some life into the background, so here came the flash gels, on this shoot I used blue and purple, as you will see on the shots I've uploaded down in the article! And after setting that, it was just about to shoot, she was now posing that much as she was just doing it the way when she is dancing, so I didn't have to tell her a lot what to do!
So, what is actually the pole dance? Well, maybe from the influence of the Hollywood movies, but the pole dance still has the reputation of strippers in the night club. Actually it is getting popular as an excercise and something to learn, also it is gving you the oppurtunity to practice and enjoy spins, acrobatics, floor movement and others tricky things! She is teaching students from 16 to 60 years of age, so you can do pole dance no matter what age you are, and no matter what job you are doing! Megumi is organizing a party called PDN. It has a different theme every time, for example doing collaboration with salsa and samba dancers, capoeira, or even jazz and and other types of live music combined with pole dancing to create an interesting show, and deliver their concept. Approximately 20 dancers perform on each show, and they dance until late in the night. Pole dance is a way for every woman to polish herself as a beautiful woman in a healthy way. You don't need to look like a celebrity or have amazing acrobat skills of an olympic player to do pole dance, it can be practiced by everyone no matter of social status and age!

ポールダンスはポールを使い、スピン、アクロバット、フロアムーブなどで楽しむダンスです。ストリッパーや映画のクラブシーンなどのイメージが強いですが、今はエクササイズや習い事として、広がっています。私は現在16歳から60歳の生徒を指導しています。そして、PDNというポールダンスを中心したパーティーをオーガナイズしています。PDNには毎回テーマがあり、サンバやカポエラジャズダンス、サルサ、生演奏など、ポールダンスだけではなく、いろんなジャンルとコラボレーションしたり、ミュージカルのような演出をしたり、世界観とメッセージ性をとても大切にしています。毎回約20名のダンサーたちが出演し、終電まで盛り上がっています。ポールダンスを健全なアートとして、女性らしさを磨くエクササイズとして、どんな職業や年齢の人にでも楽しんでもらいたい、ダンスは恵まれた容姿や、ずば抜けた身体能力のある人のものだけではなく、一生懸命がんばってステージデビューを目指したり、自分の個性や、伝えたいメッセージを探しながら、仲間とともに奮闘し、少しずつ変わっていく生徒たちとともに日々成長するのは私の喜びです！

I didnt really want to miss this shot and parked right the side of the road and bolted out grabbed my tripod and shoot. I was just like kid playing on a huge sandbox and taking loads of pictures. I told Lynette that I didnt want to procastinate this time, and every oppurtunity I see, I'll take it. But at the same I didnt want to make her bored waiting for me.
Although this particular day is absolutely gorgeous in this particular part of the Rockies, it was brutal in taking picture-at least to my standard. Luckily I remember using NDx8 to cut down the extreme sunlight, this give me some fanstastic detail of the rock. Couple of with Circular Polarizer managed to cut down the light to 5 stop.

This was one of the special moments that I had the oppurtunity to photograph this eagle.
De steppearend (Aquila nipalensis) is een grote roofvogel uit de familie van de sperwerachtigen (Accipitridae).
Steppearenden leven voornamelijk van grondeekhoorns, maar ze eten ook jonge vogels, sprinkhanen en hagedissen
Personally, I prefer spotting next to the runway, because of the action and better angles for photography.
But sometimes I choose the photo oppurtunity on the Schiphol Airport viewing terrace; just for the fun and the diverent angles at the same spot.
Take-off/ landing/ rolling aircraft and all the action to get the plane back in the air, asap..
Unfortunately the heat/ APU-distortion is quite irritating, especially on cold days, but all-in-all you are able to take some nice actionshots from above, on the terrace.

I arrived in town for work too early so took the oppurtunity to go for a photowalk. I do wish i'd taken the 18-105mm lens though.
Rosemary bags my coffee beans for me and we chat. It was quite a few months ago that I noticed she was quite attractive. . . petite and a bit of a sprite.
Rosemary doesn't work everyday, so it was hard to catch her at the times when I had my camera. Finally, I caught her with just my camera and the mounted lens.
10-18mm lens is NOT the ideal portrait lens, but you do with what you got. Monday, I'm going to print up copies for her.
I really admire her fine bone structure. She is such a super nice person and works like she's in high speed all of the time.

apparently this is the only way i meant to use natasha at this time. she isn't broken, i think my brain is, though. i brought my film to get developed, and i got yelled at basically by the man there because some of my film had come unwound , and the edges of some of my film got eaten because i loaded natasha wrong.
mr. film man, let me tell you a thing or two. just because i am little and female does not mean i am stupid. and instead of getting all papa bear on me and telling me what a screw up i am, this could have been a teaching oppurtunity. instead, you made me feel like a four year-old that spilled my milk all over a freshly cleaned floor.
anyway, the hubs and i sat on the floor of our bathroom (it is darker in there) and printed out the english instructions and we taught me the right way. take that, film nazi!

Talk about being in the right place at the right time. Whilst ambling through the delightful Northumberland village of Rothbury I happened to turn round and see Arriva's East Lancs bodied DAF ( VDL ) 7455. YJ57BVF unloading a bus full of school children in the village as sen in the earlier shot. Happy with my shot we carried on with our amble and would you believe it happened to be stood in this spot when low and behold she reappeared NOS heading back, I assume to Morpeth so another shot was grabbed.............Excellent oppurtunity not to be missed. I love this shot myself

Most photos I take of people are oppurtunity shots, I do not usually carry softboxes and such (most places wouldn't let you drag them in anyway) so I have to work with what is available. In this case, there are bad color lights (mostly Red) everywhere but one corner. I did ask this woman to stand in a different location to get the streak of lights behind her and get her out from under the RED, Orange Yellow and purple ceiling lights. I set an off camera strobe on a near by table and fired it using CLS.

A few weeks ago national monuments were opened to the public. Since I live closeby to the Van Nelle factory, I thought that it would be a great oppurtunity to finally see this place. Unfortunately the terrain was way too crowdy for what I had in mind and the weather was pretty gray. The latter did not make the editing any easier. It feels like I didn't get the white balance right in any of my shots (more can be found on my website by clicking the link below).
So i had the oppurtunity to shoot some baby photos today.
Such a cute and happy baby, really couldnt have gone any better.

Her name is Megumi Yuzuki / 柚月恵, and she is one of the best pole dancers in Japan, she is very professional and also very easy to work with. We have also done some other shoots after this one, but the result from them I will upload later! In this article I will explain the strobist setup of the edgy lighting I've been using for her, and you can see some of the photos below!

In this shoot after a talk with my model, trying to analyze her I decided to go with some edgy lighting, thus putting some emphasize on her beautiful body lines. So I decided to use my strip lights from both sides diagonally and shoot without any light from the front side. I think this really created some images that show in a really good way her body structure. Then after some shots with only the strip lights, I thought to put some life into the background, so here came the flash gels, on this shoot I used blue and purple, as you will see on the shots I've uploaded down in the article! And after setting that, it was just about to shoot, she was now posing that much as she was just doing it the way when she is dancing, so I didn't have to tell her a lot what to do!
So, what is actually the pole dance? Well, maybe from the influence of the Hollywood movies, but the pole dance still has the reputation of strippers in the night club. Actually it is getting popular as an excercise and something to learn, also it is gving you the oppurtunity to practice and enjoy spins, acrobatics, floor movement and others tricky things! She is teaching students from 16 to 60 years of age, so you can do pole dance no matter what age you are, and no matter what job you are doing! Megumi is organizing a party called PDN. It has a different theme every time, for example doing collaboration with salsa and samba dancers, capoeira, or even jazz and and other types of live music combined with pole dancing to create an interesting show, and deliver their concept. Approximately 20 dancers perform on each show, and they dance until late in the night. Pole dance is a way for every woman to polish herself as a beautiful woman in a healthy way. You don't need to look like a celebrity or have amazing acrobat skills of an olympic player to do pole dance, it can be practiced by everyone no matter of social status and age!

ポールダンスはポールを使い、スピン、アクロバット、フロアムーブなどで楽しむダンスです。ストリッパーや映画のクラブシーンなどのイメージが強いですが、今はエクササイズや習い事として、広がっています。私は現在16歳から60歳の生徒を指導しています。そして、PDNというポールダンスを中心したパーティーをオーガナイズしています。PDNには毎回テーマがあり、サンバやカポエラジャズダンス、サルサ、生演奏など、ポールダンスだけではなく、いろんなジャンルとコラボレーションしたり、ミュージカルのような演出をしたり、世界観とメッセージ性をとても大切にしています。毎回約20名のダンサーたちが出演し、終電まで盛り上がっています。ポールダンスを健全なアートとして、女性らしさを磨くエクササイズとして、どんな職業や年齢の人にでも楽しんでもらいたい、ダンスは恵まれた容姿や、ずば抜けた身体能力のある人のものだけではなく、一生懸命がんばってステージデビューを目指したり、自分の個性や、伝えたいメッセージを探しながら、仲間とともに奮闘し、少しずつ変わっていく生徒たちとともに日々成長するのは私の喜びです！

I was lucky enough to be given the oppurtunity to shoot at a new, amazing hotel in Colorado. The Black Monarch is a dark, curiosities, eccentric themed hotel that is a one of it's kind. It used to be a casino, brothel, and saloon back in the Gold Rush era, so as you can imagine, with all these unqiue qualities combined, I had such a fun, creative time shooting there. I felt so fortunate to be allowed to literally explore the whole space and shoot wherever we wanted to.

Meet Dolores
I was in DC recently for a head-shot session and then headed out for lunch before packing up and glad I did for that's when I met Dolores crossing the street.
Her simple yet very elegant dressing first caught my attention - the all black with hints of color with the yellow belt and with the bag adding another dash of color was a great photo opportunity. I gained her attention and explained my request and thankfully she accepted - although she had to finish her lunch that she just picked up. So we headed to a outdoor seating area around the corner where we could see a lot of folks eating lunch by a shared area surrounded by restaurants. Dolores was a nice person to chat with as she talked a little bit about herself over lunch - must say she was extremely articulate and extremely confident. A very friendly personality, with a wonderful presence, it felt like I knew her for a while.
Apparently she was in the area for a job interview. She lived in New York previously working with managing doctor's offices, and moved to DC few years back. Dolores has studied International Relations and worked with International affairs but is looking for a job completely unrelated to these areas. In that sense she appeared to be someone who follows her heart and looks for new challenges.
A very competitive personality she participates in triathlons and has been focused on beating her brother, she said with a determined smile. Her favorite memories are visiting the monuments at night - she thinks that is the most magical time to view these wonders. She views herself as a "hustler" who can manage to get things accomplished.
Thanks a lot Dolores for being a part of this project and for your trust and time. Wish you all the very best for your future (hope you had a positive outcome from the interview - even if not am sure its because there are better oppurtunities awaiting). For ages now, on my way to work, I've looked at the redundant gasometer and thought I should really take some pictures of it before it's demolished. Like the Nestles chimney, its one of those Salisbury landmarks from my childhood, that's going to disappear soon. My evening trip to Waitrose to take pictures of the Baron, gave me the oppurtunity to take some pictures.

'Overall very good condition apart from a bit of corrosion on the rear arches' I would call that more than just a bit... The car in my opinion is in ok condition and I would have bought it from the owner if the oppurtunity arisen. I can see this car sitting for quite some time as at £1795 its well overpriced.

I've been wanting to get a photo of the carwash sign before I moved away so this was a good oppurtunity! We walked around Seattle til blue hour was over. Tried my luck again with night shots of the elephant and I didn't like how they turned out but had a great last night in Seattle with my husband and our friend.
Real close maybe 5yds. Shot him out my driver side window while cruising the bottomlands for just such an oppurtunity.
He did not want to fly away, that is until another car approached and scared him off.
