Just stumbled this photo (taken and given by Edfel) during S.I.N. (Super Import Nights) 2007 at Singapore(yeah, it was taken last year)... It's one of the kind and great oppurtunity to be the beautiful babes of S.I.N.

I went driving to the Amish country to buy some organics. I met these Amish kids were walking at 18 degrees (oF) from school. I have great respects with the Amish people and that i am always hesitant to take their pictures for they people are very private, but guess what i notice they have no parents around so i took this oppurtunity to capture this moment. "Can I take you picture guys?" and they said "SURE!"

Look at them! their faces full of contentments! no complain of whatsoever. Do you think we could live the same way they do?

Answer...

We had a very pleasant yumcha at the old Oriental Tea House in South Yarra, back when it was tucked in a small shop in a lane perpendicular to Chapel Street, so when I heard that the Chadstone store was open, I decided to give it a try.

Perhaps my expectations were too high. Or perhaps, it was just passing off cheap Chinese dimsum to Aussies who didn't know better, Asian and Caucasian alike. The clientele on the opening weekend was quite evenly split between Asians and Caucasians, lured in by the breezy indoor-outdoor dining areas, bright reds and contrasting black decor, and a distinctly Asian but modern decor.

The selection of teas are quite impressive. Tea is served in glass teapots to be shared. You can also order tea individually in mugs made of a 紫砂 deep purple porcelain, the traditional material for 紫砂壶 Chinese teapots.

Food-wise, it's a disappointment. That's not to say it is not good, but the asking price of a 特点 "deluxe" dimsum being AUD8.90 you'd expect something special. Instead, what we get is a floury and chewy filling in the 带子烧买 scallop siumai dumpling. A distinct indicator of it being undercooked. Most other yumcha places serve "deluxe" dimsum at half that price.

Before we entered, Julia exclaimed that a 烧卖 siumai pork dumpling or 虾饺 hargao prawn dumpling, a "regular" dimsum, was AUD5.90. That was almost grounds for us turning tail and heading to a nice cafe. But it is better this way, rather than be tempted every time we walked past.

Being an equal oppurtunity employer meant that we had waiters and waitresses of all races, althought predominantly Asian. Being used to dimsum names in Cantonese, hearing the mangled English translations was a bit though. Guava-flower fried prawn wonton 石榴花云吞 is a mouthful in anyone's language. Just call a wonton a wonton.

Still, Oriental Tea House seems to draw crowds at both its South Yarra and city stores, which points to a shrewd business owner understanding that the ambience and price-point is "acceptable" for the locations it is in.

a snow globe for the christmas season. i bought one. i used to have a whole bunch i got rid of, but i got suckered in for the photographic oppurtunity of it....

i am in there, my reflection is at least.

(sooc btw, with my sexy new lens...)

Rosemary bags my coffee beans for me and we chat. It was quite a few months ago that I noticed she was quite attractive. . . petite and a bit of a sprite.

Rosemary doesn't work everyday, so it was hard to catch her at the times when I had my camera. Finally, I caught her with just my camera and the mounted lens.

10-18mm lens is NOT the ideal portrait lens, but you do with what you got. Monday, I'm going to print up copies for her.

I really admire her fine bone structure. She is such a super nice person and works like she's in high speed all of the time.

Thanks Rosemary for the oppurtunity.. . .

Street Photography. A very challenging genre, but the oppurtunities are endless...lots & lots to learn!!

Toluca - Interjet management had the oppurtunity to take an interior tour of the SSJ100 while it was at the Toluca hub, in order to carry out some high-altitude tests.

Seriously, everywhere I turned was another image oppurtunity. This happened to be just in time as I the light had just turned green right when I saw how small the car was. Texas on the other hand would probably have a truck twice the size of the guy in front. I thought it was pretty cool to see an actual mini this size or in this case a Daihatsu Copan.

Also I tend to post photos from the other side of the bridge on my Facebook (link above) in which I don't believe they don't fit on my Flickr. If you wish to check those out follow me on there too!

Taken this afternoon (Tuesday 16th November) for the Project 365 Group/5th Anniversary of my joining Flickr.

Not a very good attempt but I may add this to the Sunday Night Phlow as this week's theme is Movies and if no other "relevant oppurtunities" crops up before then.

Taken with the Hipstamatic app for the iPhone.

140525-GW695-009 NEW YORK -- Girl Scout Hearts of the Hudson visited service members and dropped off cookies during Fleet Week New York. Over 100 crates of cookies were donated to participating units in the Navy, Marines and Coast Guard. The week long celebration is an unparrelleled oppurtunity for the citizens of New York and the surrounding Tri-State area to meet Sailors, Marines and Coast Guardsmen as well as witness firsthand the latest capabilities of today's maritime forces. Wanted to do a simple shot today, but things just went great today.

I had a very nice phonecall with "Man met Bril" which left me humbled, proud and happy. Happy because I've met so many great people here on Flickr and they, and their pictures have become part of my daily life.

And Flickr keeps sending me great things.

Mr. Moog directed MacUser magazine to me to write a Photoshop tutorial on this image to be printed in their next issue.

How's that, I'm getting published, woohoo!!!!

Thnx Lee for giving me the oppurtunity!!

FIRST TIME TO THIS LIGHTHOUSE!!! It is like the pictures say very picturesque...So I was in Maine and Back Home in Southwestern Connecticut all in the same day...Went up for sunrise left at 1am and got back by 2:30pm for work...YES I'M NUTS...Photography makes you do INSANE things just to get the shot...My friend went up for the whole day and couldn't pass up the oppurtunity to see this lighthouse for once...The sunrise was one of the best I've seen and the Snow Squall that followed was a Plus...Taken Yesterday Morning around 7am

Shot with Kat at the House of Nightmares Group shoot on 11/29/08. It was a blast doing this set in a dark, cold, and dirty basement. If anyone ever has the oppurtunity to work with Kat.... Do NOT pass up the oppurtunity!

Shot with a Nikon D300, 17 - 200 MM VR lens and a SB800 flash. I used 2 Britek 1500 watt strobes (1 behind an umbrella diffuser and the other as a main with umbrella) to balance out some light in this dark warehouse basement.

I did not take the 6 photos that made up this image. I only processed them as discribed below.

Klaus Herrman took 6 images ranging from +2 to -3 and posted an oppurtunity for us to process these to show our work. farbspiel.wordpress.com/2011/10/26/hdr-cookbook-pics-to-p...

This is my offering. I processed them in Photomatix and used Enhancer Painterly Preset. Then I used Nik's Color Efex Pro for additional toning and added a slight vignette.

While turtle hunting she decided to walk a bit further in the woods. I tried telling her doesn't look good honey. She didn't take my advice and continued down in the brush. Well of course there was some loud rustling and she came running out there so fast, she ran right out of her flip flops. Later saying there was a foul odor. I remember stories from my dad of the Skunk Ape. My dad has always told stories about the Skunk Ape, Bigfoot since I was a girl. My dad never tells a lie. He's a true Florida born native he hunted barefoot with a slingshot, gun or older he jokes by cars. I am always on the look out for the elusive Bigfoot here in Florida or my summer trips to the mountains of Tennessee. So when chance gives me the oppurtunity to tell my family about the Skunk Ape I am carrying on the long standing tradition in my family of storytelling.

In Florida we have something called The Skunk Ape they are in the same family as Bigfoot, Sasquatch, Abominable Snowman, Boggy Creek Monster, Wild Man, Almas, Batutut, Fear liath, Hibagon, MonoGrande, Orang Mawas, Yeren, Yowie, Yeti and the Sassenach. The Skunk Ape is named for its appearance & strong stench. Some people have compared the foul stench to a skunk rolling around in a dumpster.

The sun has dipped below the horizon leaving an illumination in the sky. Not completely dark or lit the twilight hour is here. An unbearable heat with a slight breeze attracts the biggest mosquitoes. Birds softening their calls to a whisper fetching babies home for the night. Alligators entering the swampy creek water hoping for last minute parched animals at the edge. This is when the Skunk Ape wakes to hunt. A trail of Lima beans or string of apples can attract one, but it can be difficult. Reports have been documented since the 1970’s and film captures are extremely rare. One lady who wished to remain anonymous mailed the pictures into a local Post Office.

If you are luck enough to encounter the Florida Skunk Ape do not run. Stand still and note your surroundings, time of day, weather and please remember to take pictures.

Took this photo while leaving Seattle/Bellevue last week. It was a very long week last week which extended, unfortunately, into the weekend. It is worth it though, I do love what I do, so I try not to complain too much. Its tiring at times but I always try my best to keep myself going.

I've always like pictures with certain repeating patterns such as a hallway or other patterns. Hallways always remind of those scenes in scary movies where the lights start to off one by one until they shut off around the main character and something jumps out at them while the lights are all off. That didn't happen on the day I took this photo, but the thought crossed my mind.

This is also from one of my preferred hotels in Bellevue, Hotel Sierra, although not a national chain its a very nice little hotel. They have a bistro/bar area that serves a good breakfast and decent evening meals as well.

The photo has been heavily edited, Cross-Process Filter, Grit Filter, Temperature, and Exposure. I wasn't going for reality more of what my imagination saw. It was also about 4:30 am so it was pretty dark in the hallway so it was a good oppurtunity as well.
