Description of work: View towards Capitolium in Ostia's Forum. The Forum was the city's main square, closed off to all vehicular traffic, and was extensively remodeled during the reign of Hadrian (AD 117-138). The Capitolium was a temple dedicated to Jupiter, Juno, and Minerva, the same gods honored on Rome's Capitoline hill (hence its name) (source: www.ostia-antica.org/regio1/forum/forum.htm and www.ostia-antica.org/regio1/forum/capitol.htm).

We ran across this tower while hiking through Rancho San Antonio Open Space. Loved all the intersecting lines with the sun in the background.

Description of work: View of Piazza di S.Ignazio. It was arranged by F.Raguzzini in 1727-1728 with the rococo aspect by construction of a series of buildings similar to chests of drawers. The square is located on important archeological site, where the rests of the archways of Acquedotto Vergine, which served Terme di Agrippa, were found. Nearby was the Temple of Isis. Photo 1993
