Description of work: View towards the Temple of Jupiter at the far end of Pompeii's Forum. This area was its city center, an open space that housed and connected the city's main commercial, political, and religious functions. It was surrounded by a two-story portico, with a Doric lower story (portions of which are seen reconstructed at right) and an Ionic upper story.
