The fog, the barely visible solar eclipse and the magic of autumn inspired me to this picture. A glass of Federweisser is still missing.

The slope was driving me nuts, so i straightened it up and replaced the file. The strange thing is that I didn't notice the tilt until I uploaded it to Flickr.
One of the most beautiful things about summertime is a summer storm..the way it smells, the way it feels, and the way the earth drinks up the water....pic taken at my sim featuring one of my favorite builds from Ionic ...the Mediterrano (ionic : Mediterraneo RARE) and the New Ionic: Faro (lighthouse) from "The Shore" collection out now at The Chapter Four...

Palaestra (Wrestling Hall) was one of the most popular and beautiful architectural public buildings in Ancient Greece. It was an important element of classical culture of Ancient Greece and later consequently of Ancient Rome. There the young people learned to fight and win not only with strength but mostly with technique and intelligence, without causing damages to the opponent's body. Palaestra (Greek: Παλαίστρα) was a site of events and wrestling school, which functioned both independently and as a part of public gymnasia; a palaestra could exist without a gymnasium, but no gymnasium could exist without a palaestra.
In Ancient Messene city, the colonnade of Palaestra complex dates from the 3rd century BC to the 4th century AD. It is an architectural composition of a central courtyard surrounded by Doric stoas and auxiliary rooms. Connected to the Gymnasium, the Palestra was used by Ephebes (young men in military training) and athletes. Ancient Messene was founded by Epaminondas on the foothills of Mount Ithomi in 369 B.C as the ancient capital of liberated Messenia. Its archaeological site is one of most impressive and least visited in Greece. Ancient Messene contains the ruins of the large classical city-state of Messene founded by Epaminondas, after the battle of Leuctra and the first Theban invasion of the Peloponnese. He was an important militarily influential and invented and implemented several major battlefield tactics. The wonderful archaelogical site of the remains of Ancient Messene (also called Ancient Messini), which includes a magnificent stadium, is located near Kalamata in Greece.

My art is often quite soft, subtle. In this last shot from the Olive Tree Sim, I wanted to capture another kind of beauty, one that is harsh that perhaps we don't often show to the world... Hope you enjoy and thank you so much for your continued support...
Before I turn to the next grandiose Tuscany scene, let's take a little breather today and dedicate ourselves to something more ordinary, simpler,
an olive tree in a meadow. The special thing about this scene is once again the light. As you can see from the long shadow of the tree, the sun is already very low. In fact, it's only a few minutes until sunset.
This warm and soft light, almost the last sunlight of the day, makes the grasses around the tree glow. That's what drew my attention to him in the first place.

A true open-air museum, Rome has preserved and enriched its beauty over the centuries. Each corner of the streets reveals a treasure, be it ancient, religious, architectural or even gastronomic. All roads lead to Rome, and one should not resist, simply take it and go, enjoy the beauty and admire the eternal city.
I worked for a long time this field of olive trees. I was not sure "to destroy" because I liked a lot Then I thought that doing so pink was not so bad since it these days many storms have devastated many places.
We hope this is a good omen.
(if you have five minutes of time watch this video, it is a wonder...)
Thank you very much for all visits in recent days, for all the invitations, comments and favorites. Always much appreciated.
These days have been busy and I was not present.
Thank you all and wish you a good week.
This trail is ancient and very well preserved. Through the mountains you can reach the village called Agiasos. The inhabitants use it to go to their olive groves. On the 15th of August every year thousands of inhabitants of Lesvos island from this very uphill path go to worship the Virgin Mary of Agiasos. The ascent takes about two and a half hours.
"You will never have this day again, so make it count".....

@thanks for your friendship, support, coments and faves. They mean a lot to me and make me happy.
Odysseas Elytis, the famous nobel winning Greek poet, once said "If you decompose Greece the only elements that you will end up with are an olive tree, a boat and a grape tree. This means that that's all you need to make it again". The grape tree is the only piece missing in this shot, however there are plenty of olive trees exactly like it is in Greece. Today is the 200th year anniversary from the Greek revolution war and I felt like posting something very Greek (even if the Greek flags is not in it) to honor this day. Hope everybody is safe and sound.
