She's was 19 years old here and still going strong at almost 22. Here she is enjoying a cat nap in the sunshine.
I just wanted to add that we finally lost her in February 2012 aged 23 years. I miss her so much.
Rusty wakes up long enough to hear the wind outside and the rain on the roof. As long as she's warm and dry, in her new IKEA bed, she's happy to dream her day away.
Here are pictures of Cosmo the cat taken during the holidays ending with New Year's Day, 2023. They were at home in Ypsilanti, Michigan. He is a good looking 16 year old cat, but last year, the vet found all sorts of old cat problems. He has cataracts, is on thyroid medicine and eating wet food - and that makes him very happy. I want to showcase him for the album for this calendar year's Project 365. What better way than to make him the picture of the day!

This is Tigr, my 19 year old cat, lying on a rag rug which protects me from her pointy little claws. She knows this rug. It's now hers. She knows that when it's on me, she can come and get cuddled and lie on my leg, something she enjoys doing. She's a sweetie.
I always keep my Panasonic DMC-ZS6 on the bed where I can reach it. That's how I got this shot. I was able to get the camera without disturbing Tigr.
I found Tigr in the street 17 years ago. She was badly injured, perhaps by a dog or another cat. The Bergh Memorial Animal Hospital of the ASPCA fixed her up. It took almost two weeks in their hospital due to an infection and her tail was amputated. She now looks like a Manx.

My hubby's best friend. Moon is 15 years old, and doing well although he is showing his age. All was not well last year when he started becoming dangerously thin and weak despite his hearty appetite. A visit to the vet and bloodwork revealed that he has hyperthyroidism. He was put on daily medication, and within a month his sleek black coat and 'pantherish' good looks had returned. Hubby and I are so grateful that Moon will be with us a while longer. Every day with him is a 'bonus' !
The Bagutta Restaurant is one of the oldest in Milan and used tho be a place for artists, cartoonist, painter´s hangout in the 40,s and 50´s. It´s is still on and I had a great time there.
Gilbert is now 22 years old. Around the house he is the Don Corleone of cats.
He got hit by a car 8-9 years ago and broke his jaw so he couldn't eat solid foods for 5-6 weeks. He survived on a diet of yoghurt.
In his younger years he would race around the house and wreak havoc to the point where my parents considered getting rid of him. At the age of 22 he still doesn't take any shit from dogs. He is pretty large, but not as large as his colleague "Oscar" who is holy-crap-is-this-a-large-cat large. While Oscar is more of a ranger and takes care of perimeter defense, Gilbert is the head of the house.
The duplo-pieces on the floor suggest his lunch today was one of the kids. I thought things were a bit quiet...
Hunter the black cat is my very first pet in life and he has been a guard cat of our art school for past 16years. He is 18yo now. He became so weak, eats less, drinks less and sleeps a lot. I decided to take him to the vet tomorrow morning because he hasn’t had his bowel movements for a week. I’m preparing myself to put him down if that’s best for him. It’s very sad. But I’ve been thinking about happy memories he has given to us.

Owner of the model, had Rico for 19 years - can you imagine!? She said they called him "The President" in her house. I figure, at his time spent working with the other business cats, he was known as "El Señor Presidente" Rico because no one could remember him not being there.
I just bought this laundry basket and Alex has taken over it. As you can see, I put her little pillow in it! Anyways, I really didn't want a white laundry basket. ;-) Sorry Alex, I know this picture is not the best.
I suspended an infrared lamp about 3 feet above his favorite roost on the kitchen table. He seldom moves from this spot, except to sit in my lap for awhile.
Dear old Ginger wondering why I've wandered back into the kitchen at that time of night. (I think it was probably to get a spoonful of Gaviscon.)
