Here are pictures of Cosmo the cat taken during the month of March 2023 at home in Ypsilanti, Michigan. He is approaching his 17th birthday in early May, but last year, the vet noticed all sorts of old cat problems. He has cataracts, is on thyroid medicine and eating wet food - and that makes him very happy. Recently, he had a sore over his right eye. We are watching it and hoping it goes away.

I didn't give Tigr her time to lie on me when I awoke. She missed that time and walked around crying. I gave her food. That wasn't it. I put her on my lap while I was at the computer. That was good, but still not it.

I had to lie down again and let her come up and settle in for a half hour.

She slept where you see her and was sleeping until I started to take photos. I had a camera just within reach so I didn't have to use my cellphone. I took this just a few minutes ago, but have to use my computer to post it. Yes, Tigr had to vacate her "bed."

Beck's enjoying my lap; Blueboy is envious.

My waterbed is the cats' favorite place.

our very lovable old cat Milly, she's a cross between a coon cat and a typical English B&W cat with 4 white paws , white belly and front - oh and a white smudge on her nose which gives her a bit of character. NOW 15 1/2 !

Paul and Beck, snoozing on a cool morning

Doing his best catloaf. At 26, he can still jump into my lap and then get into the hutch. Otherwise, he's quite sedentary.

Lovie usually sleeps by herself; the cold weather is making her more sociable

Pixie is a blue/cream with pale green eyes and at 17yrs old is a rather grumpy old lady.

Zibby is now around 17 years old. He still keeps himself scrupulously clean and his bib is always bright white. He's just the past couple of months beginning to get the really old cat look bless him and finding eccentric places to park. Here he is in my rather snazzy laptop bag LOL

Jasmine and Meeko have been ADOPTED!!

Jasmine and Meeko were temporary residents of the oakville humane society in oakville, ontario, canada

Jasmine and Meeko were surrendered to the ODHS when their owner was no longer able to care for them. Because the two have likely been together their whole lives and depend on each other, they must go to a new home together.

At 12 and 14 they only have a couple teeth between the two of them and will need to continue on a diet of soft, palatable food. In order to avoid flare-ups of Upper Respiratory infection, both Jasmine and Meeko are on a L-Lysine suppliment in their food which they should continue on in their new home. They are sweet and reserved, but talkative senior girls who are looking for a quiet home to retire in. Due to Jasmine and Meeko's needs, we would reccommend a home without other animals or small children to ensure their continued comfort and minimized stress level. They must also remain indoor only cats.

please adopt from your local animal shelter. recycled pets are the best!

He and I are enjoying my new footy PJs.

Beck, my 12-year old tabby, is having trouble with his left eye. A small cherry-red swelling appeared at the inside corner of his eye Friday. Today, it was weeping a bit of blood. I've called the vet; someone should be picking him up shortly. I'll keep you posted.

I could have taken a sharper picture using the flash, but I thought it might cause Beck some distress, so this was taken using ambient light.

My oldest cat will soon be 26 years old. He moves more slowly, spends more time indoors and in my lap. But he is a sweet and precious companion.

I always wondered what our 22 year old cat was up to as she hung out the car window at 100kms/hr. So, I took a snap to find out! (for those wondering, the car is moving and she is secured safely).

This is a full view of Vikki who lives in the Parc de Bagatelle. He is very old and not too well, but please do not fret. Vikki has had a long life and been well looked after, as are all the feral cats in the park. You only have to look at Alyosha to realise that.

All the people who look after him, and all the other Bagatelle cats, have decided not to inflict any invasive treatment on him, but to let him enjoy the last of his days, as he has always enjoyed, sitting on the park bench watching the world go by. He is fed well, he has shelter and what is more he has lots of 'friends' , like Mona my delightful Flickr friend who take care of him.

So we should not be sad when Vikki says his final goodbye. Although not a 'house' cat, he has spent his life in a safe and beautiful place with people who care about him. Salute Vikki

Happy Furry Friday everyone!

Here's to carefree lifes:-)

I keep my cats inside on Halloween, to prevent them from falling prey to mischief.

One of her last pictures; she developed probably a blood clot in a hind leg following a nap and was then unable to walk only about a week after this picture was taken, and her 19 years came to an end on March 7. A Maine Coon mix, her much larger orange-colored brother (who was more the size of a small Mountain lion cub and weighed as much as 23 lbs) did not make it past age 3.

This is her Yoda pose.

Next month, Blueboy will be 26 years old. Two weeks ago, he really slowed down, spent more time huddled under a heat lamp, hardly moving. I left him with my veterinarian for a few day's checkup. Blueboy's kidneys and liver are not working as they should. The vet gave me some Science Diet food especially made for cats with kidney problems.

Today, Blueboy is improved a lot! Instead of sleeping on the kitchen table, he came and jumped into my lap, surprising me.

He's lived almost half as long as I have. He's had a good safe home and lots of love. I know I'll have to give him up someday, but I'm just not ready now!

Et j' aussi ma petite Jazmin

Here are pictures of Cosmo the cat taken during the holidays ending with New Year's Day, 2023. They were at home in Ypsilanti, Michigan. He is a good looking 16 year old cat, but last year, the vet found all sorts of old cat problems. He has cataracts, is on thyroid medicine and eating wet food - and that makes him very happy. I want to showcase him for the album for this calendar year's Project 365. What better way than to make him the picture of the day!
