Letojanni is a comune (municipality), and coastal resort in the Province of Messina in the Italian region Sicily, located about 170 km east of Palermo and about 32 km southwest of Messina. An important figure original of Letojanni is the famous surgeon Francesco Durante (1844-1934), who was teacher of surgery of the joints and bony at the University of Studies of Roma and he was together with Guido Baccelli founder of the General hospital of Roma and finally he was also named senator of the Reign.

Nel XIX secolo fu interessata da un notevole sviluppo economico e nel 1880 ottenne la parità amministrativa con Gallodoro. Il terremoto del 1908 danneggiò diversi suoi edifici che vennero in seguito ricostruiti. Nel 1952 divenne comune autonomo. Tra i monumenti, di notevole interesse architettonico è la Chiesa Parrocchiale in stile neogotico, ricostruita nel 1929, che conserva al suo interno uno splendido quadro raffigurante la Pietà risalente al 1700. Un personaggio illustre originario di Letojanni è l'insigne chirurgo Francesco Durante (1844-1934), che fu docente di Chirurgia ossea e articolare all'Università degli Studi di Roma, fondatore insieme a Guido Baccelli del Policlinico di Roma e fu anche nominato senatore del Regno.

Se tutti gl’atti 'falleros', sono molto significativi per i valenciani, 'l’offerta dei fiori' alla Vergine degli abbandonati, patrona di Valencia, è la più emotiva. Non è strano veder passare le falleras davanti alla Basilica con le lacrime agli occhi per l’emozione.
Come indica il suo nome, la Ofrenda de flores è un tributo floreale.
Nei giorni antecedenti il 17/18 Marzo nella 'Plaza de la Virgen' la Giunta Centrale della Fallas, costruisce una struttura di legno vicino alla facciata della Basilica e una al centro della piazza con la forma della Vergine ed del Bimbo.
L’intenzione è coprire le strutture, con fiori di distinti colori, formando un mantello uniforme ed esteticamente molto bello.

TEC - a modular table designed by Alfredo Häberli - has now come to enrich the Alias
range of products.
This elementary modular table features slender legs in die-cast aluminium that are
hooked onto an extruded aluminium structure set back relative to the edge of the
table top. On the one hand, this configuration achieves an interesting visual effect as
the top seems to be floating in the air and, on the other hand, thanks to the
structure’s rigidity, it is able to support extremely long tops thereby making it
possible to choose from a very broad range of sizes.
Depending on the material used, the table top can be had in different versions: from
an extremely thin all-white top to a painted glass top available in a variety of colours
or a whitened oak version.
The legs and structure can be painted in a choice of four colours: white, yellow,
aubergine or a new anodized coating.

3. zum Ausgleich eines Verlustvortrags aus dem Vorjahr, soweit er nicht durch einen Jahresüberschuss gedeckt ist.
(4) Abweichend von § 49 Abs. 3 muss die Versammlung der Gesellschafter bei drohender Zahlungsunfähigkeit unverzüglich einberufen werden.
(5) Erhöht die Gesellschaft ihr Stammkapital so, dass es den Betrag des Mindeststammkapitals nach § 5 Abs. 1 erreicht oder übersteigt, finden die Absätze 1 bis 4 keine Anwendung mehr; die Firma nach Absatz 1 darf beibehalten werden.

Sono sulle pendici sud ovest della Velia, la collina tra Esquilino e Palatino: dal 21 saranno per la prima volta visitabili grazie a un nuovo ingresso sull'antico vicolo delle Carinae, completamente risistemato e accessibile.
Il Parco archeologico del Colosseo apre per la prima volta al pubblico gli Horrea Piperataria, i magazzini «delle spezie egizie e arabe» così citati da Plinio e soprattutto da Cassio Dione, costruiti dall'imperatore Domiziano sulle pendici sud ovest della Velia, la collina posta tra Esquilino e Palatino. I magazzini dal 21 dicembre saranno per la prima volta visitabili grazie a un nuovo ingresso posto sull'antico vicolo delle Carinae, anch'esso completamente risistemato e accessibile a tutti, dotato di una nuova pannellistica e percorribile dal Foro Romano fino al Tempio della Pace.

La scoperta di Maria Barosso nel 1915
Gli Horrea Piperataria, magazzini imperiali delle spezie, uno dei prodotti più preziosi del monopolio imperiale, sono ricordati dalle fonti antiche come opera di Domiziano, posti in un settore della città destinato all'immagazzinamento già a partire dall'età repubblicana. Le molteplici trasformazioni di questa piccola collina, posta tra Esquilino e Palatino, e la sequenza urbanistico-architettonica di particolare complessità - tra la pianificazione di Nerone post incendio del 64 d.C. e i programmi monumentali di Massenzio qui avviati nel 306/7 d.C. - hanno determinato l'oblio degli Horrea Piperataria, fino alla scoperta da parte di Maria Barosso nel 1915. Le indagini sistematiche avviate nel 2019 dal Dipartimento di Scienze dell'Antichità della Sapienza (Progetto Velia - Grandi Scavi Sapienza) che ha scavato dal 2019 al 2023, su concessione del ministero della Cultura e in collaborazione con il Parco archeologico del Colosseo, hanno consentito di chiarire meglio l'articolazione planimetrica di questi magazzini, gli accessi e le percorrenze, le fasi costruttive e di trasformazione della struttura, destinata allo stoccaggio e alla vendita delle spezie pregiate, impiegate, in primo luogo, ad uso medico/farmaceutico. Lo scavo ha documentato inoltre le fasi monumentali che hanno preceduto gli Horrea Piperataria tra Augusto e l'incendio del 64 d.C., che diede avvio alla ripianificazione urbanistica voluta da Nerone.

ROME - The Horrea Piperataria / Basilica of Maxentius - "At last, a piquant glimpse into spice stores of Roman emperors - Horrea Piperataria, a hidden warehouse in the Forum which was used to store pepper and herbs for the elite, will open to the public for the first time; in: THE TIMES / LONDON (18 Dec. 2023).
Behind a small door in a little visited part of the Roman Forum in Italy’s capital is the room where emperors stored some of their most precious goods.
Hidden until now from the millions of visitors to the open-air museum, the so-called Horrea Piperataria, or Pepper Warehouse, has been dug out and restored and is set to open to the public for the first time, affording a glimpse of a lucrative trade that emperors carefully controlled.
“Tonnes of pepper and spices, as well as herbs used for medicine from all over the empire, were carefully stored here — we often ignore ancient Rome’s medical culture but it was hugely important,” said Domenico Palombi, the archaeologist who led the restoration.
Built in AD94 by Emperor Domitian, the warehouse was Rome’s exclusive wholesaler of everything from medical herbs and incense for religious ceremonies to cinnamon and cardamom, which arrived in the city in industrial quantities from Egypt, Arabia and even India.
“There will have been herbs and spices from the amazingly long list made by the Roman historian Pliny the Elder, some of which we have yet to identify,” said Palombi.
The open courtyard piled with sacks of exotic imports existed until Emperor Maxentius built his massive basilica on top of it in AD308, meaning that access today is through the door hidden at the base of the basilica’s towering remains.
Inside, newly installed transparent walkways glide across ancient tiled floors and a large water trough which was the centrepiece of the courtyard.
The location of the warehouse was carefully chosen and is situated in an area favoured by Rome’s doctors. The medics opted to follow in the footsteps of the Greek doctor Arcagato, who set up shop locally, becoming Rome’s first doctor, after being placed on the payroll by the Roman Republic in the 3rd century BC.
“Wealthy Romans consulted their doctors about everything, from which diet to choose and which wine to drink, to where to go on holiday,” said Palombi.
The area around the warehouse was still full of medical practices in the 2nd century AD, when the noted doctor Galen of Pergamon was conducting his pioneering studies of the nervous system.
“Galen left lots of information about the area and lived where the Colosseum metro station is now, close to the warehouse,” said Palombi.
Apart from medical herbs, a big money-spinner for emperors was pepper, which grew in India, was sent by ship to Africa, sailed up the Nile and subsequently transported across the Mediterranean to Rome.
“The government controlled the production, transport and sale of it and in Rome it had to be stored at the warehouse,” said Palombi. “It was a prestigious product and rich people would give each other pepper as an end of year present — it was very chic.”
As they restored the warehouse, Palombi and his team from Rome’s Sapienza University found they were unearthing other layers of Roman history.
Beneath the floor of the warehouse they found traces of a massive foundation for an unknown building dating to around the time of the Emperor Augustus, who was born in 63BC. Above that were massive concrete foundations, thought to be part of a building programme that Emperor Nero never got around to finishing.
Around the water trough sit enormous chunks of masonry — possibly part of Maxentius’s basilica which collapsed in an earthquake in the 9th century, long after the fall of the Roman Empire.
“This place tells a fascinating story,” said Alfonsina Russo, the director of the Forum and the Colosseum, which is located next door. “We are giving a very important part of Rome back to the public.”

Se tutti gl’atti 'falleros', sono molto significativi per i valenciani, 'l’offerta dei fiori' alla Vergine degli abbandonati, patrona di Valencia, è la più emotiva. Non è strano veder passare le falleras davanti alla Basilica con le lacrime agli occhi per l’emozione.
Come indica il suo nome, la Ofrenda de flores è un tributo floreale.
Nei giorni antecedenti il 17/18 Marzo nella 'Plaza de la Virgen' la Giunta Centrale della Fallas, costruisce una struttura di legno vicino alla facciata della Basilica e una al centro della piazza con la forma della Vergine ed del Bimbo.
L’intenzione è coprire le strutture, con fiori di distinti colori, formando un mantello uniforme ed esteticamente molto bello.
