These are the largest species of otter as their name suggests and they come from South America. In 2020 they celebrated the birth of a baby called Bonita or Bonny who had grown quite a bit by the time we saw her.

Arriva Guildford & West Surrey 1512 (T410 ENV) departs Burntcommon Roundabout for Woking on an early morning 562 journey.
Bus Review phase 2 from 5th September 2011 saw Arriva take over the 462/3 from Countryliner, and the 562 reduced to three/four journeys each way, Woking - Ripley only (thus this start from Burntcommon was stopped), pending its eventual withdrawal on 15th October 2011 when Elm Bridge re-opened and bus services could come back off diversion (the 462/3 were re-routed to serve Ripley to allow for the replacement the 562).

Mental Health Facility founded in January of 1825 and opened in July of 1828.
The site was used for sterilization of those deemed inadequate to reproduce. Some of those sterilized include the mentally handicapped, feeble minded or uneducated peoples, blacks, poor, Native Americans, drunks, etc. Between 8,000 and 9,000 Virginians were sterilized the late 1920's and 1979. This practice of eugenics was, after quite a long period of time, eventually made illegal in the state of Virginia. However, it's lasting impact on the community was surely well noticed at the time. The building, along with a separate campus for adolescents now sits abandoned.
Sometimes when I'm in places like this I wonder around aimlessly in different buildings. I sit in silence and I imagine what the place looked like when it was up and running. And then I wonder what it would like to be a patient there. So sad.

Tibetan silver butter lamp...
Butter lamps are a main feature of Tibetan Buddhist temples and monasteries throughout the Himalayas. They are lit every morning as a representation of the illumination of wisdom, along with seven bowls containing pure water which act as symbolic offerings of washing water, drinking water, flowers, scent, perfumed water, food, and sound. Typically, butter lamps are placed between the fourth and fifth bowls. A large number of butter lamps are usually lit at one time during funeral ceremonies or when visiting temples and going on pilgrimage to sacred sites.
The butter lamps help to focus the mind and aid meditation. They are also an offering supplied by pilgrims to gain merit. Externally, the lights are seen to banish darkness, but conceptually, they convert prosaic substance into illumination, a transformation akin to the search for enlightenment.
Non-initiates in Tibetan Buddhism may gain merit by performing rituals such as food and flower offerings, water offerings, religious pilgrimages, or chanting prayers. They also light butter lamps at the local temple or fund monks to do so on their behalf. In Bhutan, villagers may be blessed and gain merit by attending an annual religious festival, known as a tsechu, held in their district. By watching the festival dances performed by monks, the villagers are reminded of Buddhist principles such as non-harm to other living beings.
Butter Lamps and Yak Butter
The Tibetan people have herded yak and placed them at the center of their culture for at least two thousand years, so it comes to no surprise that Tibetan life still revolves around the yak. In the city, yak butter has an important use in ceremonies, as a fuel for butter lamps. While the lamps were traditionally burned with clarified yak butter, now another alternative has been to use vegetable oil or vanaspati ghee.
Butter Lamp Festival
The 15th day of the first month is a high point of the Great Prayer Festival (Smom-lam), and the day of the special "Butter lamp day." On this day the symbolic butter lamp is celebrated as well as the cherished yak, who provides the butter with which the lamp can be burned.

The original Abbey Mills Pumping Station, in Abbey Lane, London E15, is a sewage pumping station, designed by engineer Joseph Bazalgette, Edmund Cooper, and architect Charles Driver. It was built between 1865 and 1868. It was designed in a cruciform plan, with an elaborate Byzantine style, described as The Cathedral of Sewage
