ENJOY!!!

Not only is Jamie excellent at the bagpipes, he plays a mean washboard too!

Today on Disney Photography Blog, I posted a series of photos of Off Kilter as part of a new series on World Showcase entertainment. Check it out!

Also, thanks to everybody who bought our new WDW iPad Wallpaper app yesterday! We had an amazing day and ended up in the Top 200 iPad Apps for the entire app store for most of the day! Thanks again.

Just a little more practice with the new lens today...

Jumping for sheer joy, it certainly appears that way.

Flies aren't my favourite animals, but I like this - best viewed large and/or on black.

For guys (well, for everyone really) it's great to give a cut that is really a style: they can wake up in the morning and it looks like it's already been fussed with and ready to go.

This time I was about to list the Real Tree camo Magic Cube Toys top for sale but as I have the rest of the outfit it seemed a shame. I had never tried it on my Hommes before but I really don't have many interesting tops for them so I thought I would see if I could get it over the head of one of my guys (action figure tops don't usuallly have back closures because the heads are easily removed). It actually wasn't too much of a struggle - easy enough over the head and bit more tricky around the shoulders but not impossible. Cabot has been wearing these pants for a long time indeed along with the short boots. I wanted some longer boots to complete his look but didn't find any in my Hommes shoe box. Instead I found these leather gaiters which kind of extend the short boots giving a long boot effect, so I used them insetad. A kind of make do and mend approach to styling but I think my Cabot looks rather handsome in this off-beat ensemble ;-)

Surprising as it may sound, the Suzuki Jimny is highly capable off road vehicle.

The Jimny isn't a monocoque shell 4x4 pretender.

It shares the same separate chassis, hi/lo transfer box, live axle (solid axle) front and rear layout as the previous SJ/Samurai range of small 4x4 vehicles from Suzuki.

Instead of the old fashioned, tough (but crude) leaf spring configuration of the SJ/Samuari series, the Jimny is coil sprung.

This example has been subjected to a suspension lift, new bumpers front and rear to increase approach and departure angles, BF Goodrich Mud Terrain tyres and a raised air intake.

The number plate style indicated this Suzuki's home is Gibraltar.

318 is a fairly typical 0-8-0 switcher of 1926 vintage. A few years back she was the subject of a fairly meticulous cosmetic restoration and you can see detail lavished on her cab interior. (Not ordinarily something you can appreciate, given that it isn't open, but once in a while volunteering for an organization has its perqs.) Some of the locomotives most subtle but important "gauges" can be seen here. At the extreme left of the picture is the water column and the "tri-cocks." Since safety absolutely requires that you have enough water in the boiler you need to know how much is there. The water column helps you to discern that accurately. The three valves (or cocks) on the right hand side of the column each drip into the receiver underneath at different water levels. Just out of view to the left, and also attached to the water column, is the water sight glass, which gives you another visual confirmation of water level, assuming you've been diligent and kept the thing clean and in proper working order. An old engineer once told me that the very first thing you look at when getting into the cab of an operating steam locomotive should be that. (Boilers without enough water have a nasty habit of exploding. It truly is pretty important.) Wish I had a picture of the sight glass itself.

River otter pushes off against the glass.

Fantastic machine - speed 40 knots and feels like being in a train travelling over water. Very smooth, fast and comfortable. The journey by traditional ferry takes 3 1/2 hours - 40 mins by catamaran.

Paros is another real beauty. We stopped here for a few days some years ago. Much quieter and cheaper than Mykonos. Less trendy and far fewer poseurs.

Step 4:

Start to branch off while twisting. Make it look natural and have some fun... don't worry too much about how it'll turn out until you've got the process down. The fastest way I learn is by making mistakes :)

As the Postie disappears up the garden path I have chance to capture the scene... and then run off with the trolley. But it was more heavy and more cumbersome than I imagined so I ran it into a ditch and set fire to it.
