Taken for the Smile on Saturday theme of profile portrait. It is very unusual to see two robins together. Not sure if maybe one is a female - any thoughts please!
This week, there were one death and one injured from the base of Bridal Falls ......they urge people not to get off the assigned trails which could have accidents to happen.
This is a male Mallard lifting off from the water.
As a side note: I will be off starting tomorrow and not returning until about May 20th! - see you then!
A mix of snow geese and Canada geese lift off from a pond in eastern Alberta. They circled a few times, then came back to where they started.
A pair of Mallards battle it out in the sky. Another one from a sequence I took. Abberton reservoir.
Spending lots of time with the hummers in my yard as I recover from surgery, They have gotten used to me now and don't seem to mind the camera.
Common Gum Tree Shield Bug (Poecilometis patruelis)
For Macro Monday - Animal
Spotted on our hedge yesterday.
The Shield Bug measures 10 mm across the 'shoulders'.
Posting early today as I will be out for most of the rest of the day. Catch up later, perhaps via the app if I get time.
And I may not be around tomorrow.
Happy Macro Monday!
Took my mountain bike out for some serious muddy off roadin'! Exhilarating! Exciting! Fast! Very Muddy!
Where I live I am surrounded by fields and woodland and so I took my bike out Tuesday morning at 6am as the sun was rising. I'm quite scratched and bruised as its quite tough terrain here and there's always brambles hanging down round the edge of fields and bridleways. My arms took a a proper scratching.
I took my bike out again this morning for another 5 miler as its gonna be hot one today, there was a rising mist across the fields and a gorgeous Sunrise.
I don't take my camera as it may get broken. I will have to stop and do an iPhone image next time.
Now for a cup of tea and chocolate biscuit.....

A family of six Ring Necked Parrots have decided to call our woods "Home"... don't forget I live near Newcastle which has a latitude of 50 degrees north. They visit our garden feeders at least twice a day. They started off in the South East of England about ten years ago and have slowly spread north. Some have been spotted in Scotland.
I went out for a drive in the rain today to see if there was any snowy action... this snowy owl surprised me at first coming out from behind the break-water rocks at the wharf... he flew out onto the bay and caught something in his talons... then flew off away from me to scare away another snowy coming toward him. Then he landed on the navigation light close to where I was. I waited for about another half hour till he decided to fly off and I got this shot. They are so fast and I was in my car as to not get soaked ... I did manage to get him all in the frame ... lol
With heartfelt and genuine thanks for your kind visit. Have a wonderful and beautiful day, be well, keep your eyes open, appreciate the beauty surrounding you, enjoy creating, stay safe and laugh often! ❤️❤️❤️

Many thanks for all the kind comments and faves on my images, they are very much appreciated :)
I feel so sorry for the butterflies. They are constantly harassed by wasps and bees but after being pushed off the flowers they fly in a circle then return for more nectar.
