A flock of Sandhill Cranes as they took off from a cornfield just south of the Platte River near Kearney, Nebraska. It was a sight to see and I'm so glad I took the detour through Nebraska on my way to Colorado for Spring Break. This isn't the greatest image, but I hope it shows what an amazing sight it is to witness these beautiful birds.
Here I am, trying to get some sleep, but the snoring and grunting of all these other elves makes it impossible to get any shut-eye. Even Bentley can’t seem to get any rest. I occasionally hear a giggle or two from a couple elves who continue to keep us all awake. I hope something is done in the morning. Gmbl.
I received good news and bad news in the last 24 hours.
Gravesend has puddles; when I arrived at the River Thames this morning and crossed the grassy - ha ! - expanse the exposed dirt was moist. With a light wind and persistent cloud cover that may not be burned off before we get our next wee bit rain.
The bad news is I have been a Celtic supported since about 1963 and last night my team disgraced itself profoundly and laughably. Ho, hey-ho.

Someone should do something about the way those dust curtains and their ruler-straight lines. Shadows are at once the biggest boon and bane of the latest binary. Low poly landscape elements bring out the worst, but I'll endure it for the depth it adds to the scene.
My take on the Mojave is nothing like what I'd imagine the Nevada Desert to actually look like BUT I DON'T FLIPPING CARE.

One afternoon we booked a dolphin sunset cruise. They were at pains to tell us that you aren't guaranteed to see them, but Lady Luck was sure shining on us as we saw loads of them. One of the later group we followed had this little guy in it who loved showing off to the chasing boats (we got up to about 5 different boats).
Taking photos on a rocking boat is not an easy task, but I got real lucky with this :)

though you can appreciate single image; to enjoy this stereo (3d) image, first just go through any one of the image like a normal photo. kindly note, try only if you can cockeye. when you are ready to see in 3d …
- concentrate on the centre line of 2 images for about half a minute
- when your eyes get little tired, try to focus your vision as if you are lost in deep thoughts, keeping the direction of vision towards the centre line
- a 3rd image will appear, pushing aside those two (if not yet, try to force your pupil nearer to each other by looking at the bridge of your nose)
- adjust your vision to see only 3 images (not four)
- concentrate on the 3rd middle image, the stereo one.
hope you could see the 3rd image and enjoy. if not, try hard; i promise, it’s worth that little pain in your eyes!

Bee's in flight are always a challenge, this one was just lifting off the lavender, it was almost only a stretch to the next one. Sigma EF-610 flash used. (1/4000th)
A little deceiving this - the steam seemingly coming from No. 7808 Cookham Manor is actually Large Prairie tank No. 4144 behind moving off down the yard. The steam just happened to be in the right place at the right time.

This was my first journey out onto the Pacific Ocean to look for whales as part of an Airbnb Experience.
Unlike most Whale watching boats that hold 45-60 people on a large vessel, and adhering to time restraints, this one was a newer fishing boat. It held a max of 6 people, had a small upper deck which held the captain along with a steering wheel and GPS systems, and a lower deck for sleeping/eating. The owner/captain turned and I ended up forming a small friendship. I spend lots of time off grid, as does he, however he has much more experience in much more wilderness than I. It was an absolutely amazing opportunity. He ended up inviting me to stay on the boat for the afternoon session, which I graciously accepted.
It was my first time seeing a whale in its natural habitat, well, not really just one, more like almost 20! Truly a moving experience, one I’ll never ever forget.
