I keep telling myself that I should try to take picture of other things, but I just love flowers so much. :)
There are lots of lovely Mertensias in North America especially, and we don't see a lot of them here. This one came from Kevock nursery I think, last year and seems to be doing quite well (touch wood). Behind it you can see another odd North American - Clematis coactilis - a small, pale flowered relative of C.integrifolia, also bought last year from Beeches' nursery.
Whilst aboard one of the boats for the Canal tour in Amsterdam, I spotted this odd looking building. it's like a lego piece that was just placed on top of another one. :)
It wasn't until I uploaded this shot onto the laptop that I noticed that a little uninvited guest had snuck in on the picture...well camouflaged and looking like it was missing a couple of legs! A common plant bug from the Miridae family...
