Walking round the Hannah Peschar Sculpture Garden this afternoon we came across these wonderful leaves, with one determined to declare it Autumn ahead of the pack.

This odd Blackbird has been a regular visitor in our garden. It appears to be a female moulting into a male. Its an adult bird and not a juvenile moulting into adult plumage. If it was a juvenile it would have a more mottled head, the primaries should be brown and its bill should be dark, not attaining the yellow colour till much later in the year. Any comment would be most appreciated.
As far as we could tell from what was written on the outside, this building used to be a bank. Whatever it was, it really didn't fit with the other architecture on the street (some as much as 120 years old).

I'm not sure exactly what this is, but it was just below the overlook in Empire State Plaza. My guess would be that it is some sort of ventilation system. Looks pretty cool, like somethings you'd see in "Star Wars".
