Odd insect on Bush Monkeyflower -- True Cricket?

This is an odd insect on new growth of native Southern Bush Monkeyflower (Diplacus longiflorus, Phrymaceae) in the woods today. It must be a orthopteran, but I don't recognize it. Maybe it's a True Cricket (Gryllidae)? (San Marcos Pass, 20 December 2025)
