Shot taken for the Photo-a-day-for-a-month group . This is my photo for 6th October.
I took so many photos on my visit to Calke Abbey on Saturday 6th October, it was hard to choose just one for my photo a day. However I've gone for this one of Sweet Chestnuts as it's very representative of Autumn.

I thought I'd try some Infrared processing which I've not done before, and I've no real concept of whether it looks OK, good or hideous, so comments and suggestions welcome.
This is my new Smart Car, I've had it a week so I guess it can still be classed as new.

I'd seen a load of pheasants in a field I pass before, and as I was passing today decided that if they were there I would stop. Of course they all legged it when they saw me, but this young one got a little left behind.

I don't know where my day went today, I've not been outside at all, so it was going to have to be an indoor or shoot the cat photo today. Hopefully we've all had an extra hour in bed today as the clocks have gone back, so my shot is of the Dolls House with Ted enjoying his extra hour. Struggled with the exposure, but hey ho, this is it for tonight.

Young fella-me-lad has a whiteboard in his room. On going into his room for the 4th time in 15 minutes tonight to reiterate "lights out" I was met by this slogan on the board: "Dad is rood and mean"...
I shall be speaking to his teacher tomorrow about his spelling ;-)

Today I got up late then spent the morning getting dinner ready in the slow cooker as this afternoon I was off out with my walking group. It was a lovely October day, bright sunshine with dramatic skies, and periodically a lovely light coming through the clouds. 6.55 miles later (my friend has GPS on her phone) home for dinner, then Corrie and Downton Abbey.
Took my compact today, just did a slight Levels adjustment on the mid tones.

The auto-mower seems to have lost it's parking ability, trying to charge the wrong end doesn't work!
Our new group room (started today) is the ohio foothills, and these are some of our local flickr'ites from our outing last month. Scioto Trails was the location, and the day had been rainy and cloudy, but a few clear moments for some good shots later in the evening. I look forward to future outings by our ever growing group. The five are Julie, Gail, Amy, Doris, and Don. Their flickr names are in the tags.
Day 13 of the October Challenge: a picture a day for a month, and the reason I'm behind!

One of the boy's birthday presents today... Previously I thought that Cuponk was the manufacturers way of getting you to pay £10 for a ping-pong ball & a cup but I have seen the light :-) Hours of fun and some awesome combos await... We've got the Gorillaz
Limited Edition.
A contrasting shot to balance out the dark swan previous image. A bit chocolate box, but what the hell you've got to shoot some clichés from time to time.

This is a shot of a flower from a bunch that sits on the windowsil in our lounge.
I've been told recently that a lot of my pictures are quite dark and in some instances scary !!! so I thought I would lighten it up a bit...........

What a "joy" it is to share the countryside with people who just want to ruin it. The local tip is obviously too far for them to bother with despite being basically free to use.
Day 7 of my 31 prompts from 31 lists drawtober!
Today's is "Crystal" from IG artist tony_moy's artober list (which was actually day 1 of inktober funnily enough).
A less intensive drawing today. Stupid real world, always getting in the way of things.

Took a walk up to the M1 bridge as I occasionally do to look at progress with the roadworks. This is the A453 going up towards the East Midlands Airport. Very gloomy, windy day, and grainy photo!

Another portrait of a work colleague... I think I spot a potential project coming on :)

I didn't think it was fair to be putting all these portraits up if I wasn't prepared to be on here as well... The difference being I get final say out of which shot to use. This is one of three I ended up with, and is the least scary as I've come down with a flu/chest thing and felt like crap when this was taken in the morning.

Was tidying up my computer desk earlier today when I found an un-checked Euro Millions Lottery ticket from 27th July 2012 - I typed the numbers into the online checker and guess what........
I've only gone and won a share of over £6,000,0000 (6 million pounds)
Don't write any begging letters though - as I've got to share it lots of other people.......
Wait for it, wait for it - I've won the princely sum of £2.80 !!!!
Oh well, better luck next time.

Day 27 of my 31 prompts from 31 lists drawtober!
Today's is "Nails" from Twitter artist Nooby2D's punktober list.
This image is heavily inspired by the song King of Nails by not very punk but also kind of punk Sparklehorse. Posting a bit late today, but I sort of got carried away.

I'd been in the garden a good half an hour before I spotted this moth on the conservatory window ledge. It was a dull afternoon and I took a few shots at f2.8, ISO 800. But then I though stop you silly woman, this moth isn't going anywhere, so I got the tripod out, composed my shot at F/11 and used self timer and got a much better shot than the f/2.8 ones. Only downside was the dirty windows. This has been identified by one of my other Groups as a Feathered Thorn moth.

I have worn a band for about 10 years, this particular one for almost exactly 4 years (the black marks on it is hair dye, I could have GIMPd it out but decided to keep it real...!)
