A Girl And Some Tunes: The Girl Who's Living La Dolce Vita
Nino Rota: "La Dolce Vita - Blues"
www.youtube.com/watch?v=4okhdspfSTY&list=PL827749FD62...
She 's a girl who enjoys the sweet life and her Vespa. As she arrives in front of this beautiful fountain, she decides to stay here for a while and and enjoy the sunny afternoon.
She gets off her Vespa and starts to feel the warmth of the sun.
The soft wind she feels on her skin makes me her want to take a few dance steps.
The sunlight makes her face shine. Life is so sweet this afternoon.
As the heat rises up, she feels the need of coldness. She decides to sit down the edge of the fountain.
A gentle wind cools her face. The thought of all the good things she's living makes her have a tiny smile.
She honestly thinks life will always go on like that and she will never have to fear the future...
Another episode in my series "A Girl And Some Tunes" and the time for me to pay a small hommage to Federico Fellini's "La Dolce Vita".
Stay tuned there's more pics to come!

Self-Portrait 13/52: From Nutcracker to Reality
This shot is WAY late. A week to be exact! I've been sick all week and I finally got around to taking this. On the left is the newest addition to my collection of over 50+ nutcrackers. That's a Steinbach Nutcracker, a real German nutcracker, which topped any gift I got. On the right is a new addition to my camera collection. I also got 2 others that you'll be seeing in a future self-portrait :) So anyways, I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year :D

Model Tonya
My wife ask me to photograph her co-workers in costume at Halloween. Tonya was dressed as an "Urkel" type nerd. Each time I pointed the camera at her she somehow transformed in that nerd-like persona. I thought she would make a good model. What do you think?

Meet Michael AKA Michael Bandy such a great guy and always has something nice and positive to say. I met him at the mini meetup/workshop I had here at my studio. He is a great landscape photographer, he travels a bit and has an eye for amazing compositions. I was able to get a little smile from Michael and also the warmth he carries with that smile. Michael is another self-taught photographers and just like myself, has only ever read one photography book, "Understanding Exposure". He is on his way to Point Reyes this weekend to shoot some more for his birthday trip. I know he will return with some amazing images to share with the entire Flickr community. I know I am looking forward to see what he comes back with.

Fun time hanging out with Robin and Chris last night. They're in from AZ visiting Robin's mom and dad here in Ohio for the Holidays, so mom and dad bought them a photo shoot and sent them to our studio! Good laughs and stories...

Got together with my friend Maggie and snapped some pics on Friday. I was pretty happy with the result. We'll probably shoot together again pretty soon once I can find some new locations. We shot all of these at spots I had already shot at before so it's hard coming up with new ideas haha.

My Daughter Katelyn is finishing up at Modern College for Hair. We have been doing some portfolio shots for her. I had to leave town last week for a few days so I set her up with my old Canon Rebel and dialed in the settings and showed her how to turn on the strobes. She accidentally turned the ISO from 100 to 400 so I am fixing some of the shots for her (thank god for RAW). When I came across this goofy shot she took of my newphew I cracked up and instantly knew I had to give it a fun edit and replace the background. I'm sure he will love it when he see's it lol
Have a great night friends

Ben and Jessica had a very specific idea in mind for the use of their photos--they wanted to create a family calendar with pictures adorning certain days. Both of their birthdays would have a headshot, while their anniversary would have a picture of them together. They also wanted a couples shot as the cover of the calendar.
I liked the headshots we got, but I liked the shots of them together most. They had a wonderful chemistry that seemed to really shine through the camera lens. They were a fantastic pair to work with.
