A Girl And Some Tunes: The Girl With The Magic Lantern
Zola Jesus "Lightsick":
www.youtube.com/watch?v=1jnOyUTo5rY
A young woman found an old lantern in her deceased grand mother's attic. During her childhood she often told her this lantern was magic, and forbid her to touch it because she claimed it was dangerous.
Now she had received it as an inheritance, she decides ta take a walk at night in the woods with the lantern. "Maybe a genie of the lamp will appear" she thinks as she enters the woods.
She hears some strange noises coming from a small river that runs near the edge of the woods. She approaches the riverside to take a look at it.
She sees nothing, the night has become too dark. She decides to enter the woods, even if it will be darker there, there will be no more risk of falling into the water.
After walking during a while into the woods, she finds a rock where she can sit. But as soon as she is sitting down, the noises are coming back. She looks carefully but she can't find any direction where it might come from.
She kneels down on the ground. She's disoriented, she doesn't know where to look, so she looks up and starts staring at the moon.
But soon she feels spied on and she stands up. A little rattle and hum comes from somewhere in those woods and she wants to find it.
After a while she finds herself nearly at the edge of the woods, the noise seems to come from somewhere there...
Another story in the "A Girl And Some Tunes" series. Let's follow the girl with the magic lantern in her adventures. Stay Tuned there's more pics to come!

Sydney's a 14 year old who has has taken some modelling classes and has signed with a local modelling agency. She's a beautiful girl and I'm sure she'll do well in the industry.

Today I interrupt our trip to Vendée to upload three more recent tabletop photos.
This one is a “Nikon Porn” portrait of my new lens, a Nikkor 135mm, ƒ/1.8 S “Plena”. This is the fourth 135mm lens I own. First there was an older Nikkor D lens boasting the vaunted “Defocus Control”, then a Zeiss Apo-Sonnar ƒ/2 that was stolen from me, and finally a Sigma ƒ/1.8 Art lens. All of those were for the F mount, the Plena is the first I own in the native Z-mount format. It got rave reviews from all corners and I can’t wait to have a good opportunity to use it.
Composite shot made of 6 focus–stacked exposures, set using the built–in function in the camera. Stack processed with Helicon Focus, Method C.
Strobist and technical: one Phottix Pro Indra500 monolight on a Profoto light stand in Rembrandt position to camera left, 1.5 meters from subject and 1.5 meters above it, firing at 1/16 power through a Phottix Pro 110–cm Luna Octabox softbox with double diffuser; and another Indra500 studio strobe on a Profoto light stand in lateral (slightly backlit) position to camera right, 1.5 meters from subject and at about the same height, firing at 1/16 power through a Phottix Pro 80–cm Raja Deep softbox with double diffuser. Additionally, one Phottix Pro Mitros+ cobra flash on a Profoto tabletop light stand to camera left, firing at 1/8 power through an Andoer gridded snoot, level with the tabletop and aimed at the lens barrel.
Strobes set and triggered via Phottix Pro Odin II radio controller on the Nikon Z7 II hot shoe, manual mode. Sekonic L–858D light meter used to balance light sources. Gitzo GT2530 tripod with Arca-Swiss Cube C1 geared head. Nikon Z7 II camera body, Micro-Nikkor Z MC 105mm f/2.8 S macro lens.
Taylor hit me up and said she needed some modeling shots taken. We met up during sunset and shot till dark. Here's another!
I know the shadows are a bit odd in this shot but it was the best shot of her smirking that I had. She refused to smile in her photos so I had to at least put up a smirk shot!

A Girl And Some Tunes: The Girl Who's Living La Dolce Vita
Nino Rota: "La Dolce Vita - Blues"
www.youtube.com/watch?v=4okhdspfSTY&list=PL827749FD62...
She 's a girl who enjoys the sweet life and her Vespa. As she arrives in front of this beautiful fountain, she decides to stay here for a while and and enjoy the sunny afternoon.
She gets off her Vespa and starts to feel the warmth of the sun.
The soft wind she feels on her skin makes me her want to take a few dance steps.
The sunlight makes her face shine. Life is so sweet this afternoon.
As the heat rises up, she feels the need of coldness. She decides to sit down the edge of the fountain.
A gentle wind cools her face. The thought of all the good things she's living makes her have a tiny smile.
She honestly thinks life will always go on like that and she will never have to fear the future...
Another episode in my series "A Girl And Some Tunes" and the time for me to pay a small hommage to Federico Fellini's "La Dolce Vita".
Stay tuned there's more pics to come!

Self-Portrait 13/52: From Nutcracker to Reality
This shot is WAY late. A week to be exact! I've been sick all week and I finally got around to taking this. On the left is the newest addition to my collection of over 50+ nutcrackers. That's a Steinbach Nutcracker, a real German nutcracker, which topped any gift I got. On the right is a new addition to my camera collection. I also got 2 others that you'll be seeing in a future self-portrait :) So anyways, I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year :D

Model Tonya
My wife ask me to photograph her co-workers in costume at Halloween. Tonya was dressed as an "Urkel" type nerd. Each time I pointed the camera at her she somehow transformed in that nerd-like persona. I thought she would make a good model. What do you think?
