Wonderflex is made from an old Ohm tester for a body, a cheap old plastic camera for a head, and some flexable lamp arms for legs and arms.

This is a project where I posted a twit on twitter saying "for the next 100 people that add me on twitter ( twitter.com/marchorowitz ) I'll send you a small drawing." I think it's a nice analog way to connect analogly in a digital space.

This is one of the drawings that was sent out. It was also exhibited with all the other drawings in the series as part of a group show called "The Future Is Not What It Used To Be."

have a lovely weekend, friends: blogged.

This work by Michael Arcega examines mystical power, objectified–strength, safety and protection from the challenges of contemporary life and politics. They guard from the looming threats that surround us and empower those who believe. Arcega is an interdisciplinary artist working primarily in sculpture and installation to explore the ways that cultural markers are embedded in objects and languages.

This was rattling around inside my piano. What is it?

I was invited to make a version of interpretations of Christian Marclay's objects score "Sixty-Four Bells and a Bow" for his exhibition "Festival" at Whitney in summer 2010. There is no instruction for this score. It was left for the artist who was given the score.

I spent 4 days to build my interpretation utilizing my CDL performance method. It is using Max/MSP and ppooll acts to create simple audio feedback concept. It reflects my positions & angles in _very_ unstable manner with Nintendo Wii controller. Bells and the exhibition room had become my instruments. Bow was used _not_ for scrubbing but lifting the edges of some bells to create series of smaller chambers (in comparison with the room and the open bells. (The bow part wasn't included in this video.)

This one is from the second day/attempt.

In the exhibition "Christian Marclay: Festival", Marclay curated all artists/musicians to interpret his visual scores. About the score "Sixty-Four Bells and a Bow" whitney.org/Exhibitions/ChristianMarclay/Scores#31540

Dillinghan tall chest with attached mirror with small lidded compartments just below. Five graduated drawers, beautiful walnut with black framework behind drawers. Great size and proportion to this unusual piece. We have read that Milo Baughman designed the Esprit line for Dillingham, and are actively researching this possibility. Either way, a fine Mid-Century chest vanity combination.

Pictured:

A dented icosidodecahedron using (5*(1+2+3+4))*12 + (6*(1+2) + 2*3)*20 = 1080 magnets. Symmetry group is full icosahedral.

A twisted dodecahedron of sorts using (5*(1+2+3+4))*12 = 600 magnets. Symmetry group is chiral icosahedral.

A truncated cuboctahedron using 6*8 = 48 magnets. Symmetry group is full octahedral.

1080 + 600 + 48 = 1728
