There are several parks in Łódź and squirrels live in all of them. They also live in all possible places in the city, where they can find some trees to live in and oaks to find food. BUT the squirrels in this particular park, Park im. księcia Józefa Poniatowskiego w Łodzi, are absolutely used to the fact that nuts grow on people. They follow people, check our bags, looking for food, they come very close to check if we have something for them :-) they are unbelievably cute :-) Those who know this prak, perfectly know the cute squirrels :-)
I had a whole bunch of these nuts (with matching bolts) hanging around. Finally got to make some use of them!
This was at the Keane Wonder Mine in Death Valley, California. I always enjoy wandering around these old mines taking photos and imagining how it would have been to work in these harsh desert conditions performing the hard labor of a hardrock miner of a hundred years ago. I shot this on a Fujifilm XT-5 using a 200mm f4 Nikkor micro lens.
It's nuts! or is it?
At least one of them aren't...

"One of These Things is NOT Like the Others"
It was a wet start to the day yesterday a pretty marked difference to the weather for the 6 days previously while Carla was away, she is now back and it rained. I decided I needed to have timeout from my constant charge of the last 6 days, that puppy is intense, so we went into town just to grab a coffee at Nero’s leaving her to have a couple of hours R&R in her crate. I say create but it’s a super little MDF cabinet with white bar front and sliding door. It sit’s under the stairs and has her bed a little carpet and water bowl, it’s her bedroom and sanctuary. We were back for lunch then after I had a power nap on the old sofa in the sun lounge, with the pup lying on top of me, like I say intense. We have a young oak and a hazel tree in the back garden, both planted by me. The oak is from a acorn collected by my son on another wet day in Borrowdale back in the 90’s. With two nut bearing trees we have constant visitors of the grey squirrel kind, more so this year as the acorn harvest was phenomenal. As I came round from my doze I was entertained by this squirrel coming back and forth so I decided to get the camera and get rid of the dog and spent a pleasant half hour with my OM1ii and the 100-400mm, I’m not a nature photographer but when nature comes to your back garden make lemonade.
A collection of nuts featuring a hexagonal in focus. Cropped to 1.25 inches. Bolts in the background for bokeh.
Many new nuts, which I found in my husband's toolbox. And of course I put them back neatly after my photos.

Have a nice Friday and stay safe.
Hairy nuts they are found
Exposed and waiting on the ground
For the touch of an delicate finger
To caress and slowly linger
On the nuts , exposed and bare
Filled with seeds inside the hair

This is a bowl of cashew nuts. The bowl is one I made, I turned some years ago, and is made from a block of cocobolo.
