I'm soaking pine nuts for pesto, and a whole lot of almonds. It's good to buy your nuts raw and soak then dehydrate them -- to preserve the enzymes.
Saw these two black walnuts lying in the grass.....subtle signs that fall is lurking around the corner. The black walnut tree is usually the first one in the yard to shed it's leaves, with a rain of little yellow leaves. It doesn't look like it will make a bumper crop of nuts this year..... however,.every couple of years we get bombarded with a ton of them. We have to be careful to remember not to park any of our vehicles underneath.....these can make a pretty good sized dent on your hood!!!
