A nutcracker is a mechanical device for cracking nuts. Usually they work on the principle of moments as described in Archimedes' analysis of the lever. The earliest use of the term nutcracker in English dates to 1481.

He is my favorite nutcracker and different from any others I have.
This is the last of the 2008 Christmas photos. This weekend, all of it goes into storage for 11 months.

In 2007 these nutcrackers were placed around the downtown Seattle area, decorated by different groups.
The wooden nutcrackers, colourful soldiers and kings, all anxiously waiting for a good home, or fearing the separation? AAAHHH, imagination again... well, maybe they ALL came from the same tree? Lol, M, (*_*)
