Hurry, hurry, hurry! Today is the last day to mail your letters to Santa so they'll reach the North Pole in time for Christmas. Hurry, hurry, hurry!

If you can't make it to your local post office in time stop by Macy's in Manhattan where you can write your letter and send it to Santa via Macy's magic letter vortex. Along the way Santa's elves will stamp your letter "naughty or nice" and rush it on to Santa for his final consideration! Hope all your letters are stamped NICE!

Only 15 more days until Christmas!

That's a SOOC swirl!

Glacier in polar zone of Svalbard, Norway

Equipped with skis in place of wheels, this Northrop Gamma Polar Star was flown accross Antartica in 1935 by explorer Lincoln Ellsworth and pilot Herbert Hollick-Kenyon. The fuselage area just behind the engine cowling still bears dents from a hard landing on polar ice.

I had a magical bike ride where riding along a trail lined with wild roses four to five butterflies would fly along with me. Sometimes the butterflies were replaced with dragonflies. At the end of my ride a bald eagle was soaring overhead (beyond the limits of my lens) and had a confrontation with an osprey in the air.

Worlds first flight over the South Pole Nov 1929 ~ Ford Built ~ First metal success all Metal built.

Floyd Bennett (October 25, 1890 – April 25, 1928) was an American aviator who claimed, along with Richard E. Byrd, to have made the first flight to the North Pole in 1926. However, their claim to have reached the pole is disputed

We traveled from Nuuk to Sisimiut by the boat Sarfaq Ittuk in about 20 hours. The boat stopped in Maniitsoq and Kangaamiut. Passengers going on and off the boat here in Kangeamiut had to be sailed from the boat in a smaller one due to the low waters in the harbor. This photo is taken at the top of the boat around 4pm.

Pausing the dog team waiting for the snowmachiners to clear the trail. They were buzzing all over the lake like a swarm of annoying mosquitos. But they are polite and respectful of our dog teams.

The polar ice is rapidly recessing, threatening the survival of the polar bears. No one of the powerful politicians in charge is doing anything to avoid it, at the contrary they and giant oil companies want it to increase their profit and power. Our grand children won't know what is this awesome beautiful free wildlife of the Arctic sea.

There is something about a path that leads into the woods, that makes the soul wonder where it leads. Many wonder, few wander, dare to wander.
