Ok, I know this image is a little crazy but I was just having fun here, so forgive me for exiting the bounds of reality for a minute! This is something I took a couple of years back at Yellowstone, while on a trip with 2 of the coolest guys you could ever meet. We had a heck of a great time, and I took lots of photos on the trip. I just came across this the other day in my library, and thought I would give it the HDR Efex Pro treatment. I was sliding things here and there and just having a great time while in my own little world of software - hopefully you have experienced that joy yourself, firsthand. Anyways, I just thought it was a fun shot, nothing serious, just fun. Hope you get a laugh or something out of it! Thanks for looking!

One more left to post. Thanks for all of your great comments and visits! What I think is some what unique on this one is the LE effect on one side of the water and clarity on the other.

This is the "Büsing-Palais", a neo-Baroque building in Offenbach.

I worked on this shot for many times, this is the first version I am satisfied enough to post it here.

It was a spur of the moment decision to take the coast road home from our visit to Llandudno for a recky to the lighthouse at Talacre. I wasn’t expecting anything photogenic considering the weather at Llandudno but was shocked at the number of people at the beach. Clearly a stunning landscape shot was out of the question with a featureless sky and people in every direction you looked. But since we’d made the effort to go then fire off a few shots for reference.

Back home, as anticipated, my shots weren’t floating my boat but I thought it an opportunity to process them using the Nik software collection. These have been processed using Silver Efex Pro and have turned out better than the native raw file...

This has to be one of the top three creepiest buildings in Portland. It sits inside an industrial port area on the Willamette River, while right next to a busy highway. Most local motorist know the structure is there, because traffic will slow considerably for all those inquisitive as to its current state of decay (and to see what might fly out of it). Amazingly, it's been in this compromised condition for over twenty years. I haven't a clue as to why it's still standing, I asked around and no one else seems to know either. Portland doesn't have many 'boogeyman' type structures such as this just standing about, however, some landowner or authority must feel this is a landmark worth preserving (or decomposing as it were) if for nothing else, then the sake of nostalgia.

So if you ever make it to Portland, be sure to add this... well, lets just call it a 'curio' to your itinerary: it only gets better with time!

Cheers

Wait! Suddenly, after writing this, I feel the need to solve this great mystery. Stay tune, I'll be back...

A medieval street in the centre of historic York, with many of the buildings dating back to the late fourteenth and fifteenth century (around 1350-1475).

In places the street is so narrow that with arms outstretched you can touch the buildings on both sides.

The Shambles was a street of butchers’ shops and houses, some with a slaughterhouse at the back of the premises, ensuring a supply of fresh meat.

The street is said to be an inspiration for the fictional Diagon Alley, the magical merchant market from the wizarding world of Harry Potter. There are now 3 shops selling Harry Potter goods, one named "The Shop That Must Not be Named", if that makes sense.

Tourists throng this street throughout the year ..... less so at night ;-)
