This week's Macro Monday theme was 'Black and White' for which I submitted a pair of sea shells processed in Silver Efex Pro. However, this shell was my alternate submission but I thought it looked better in colour to highlight the gorgeous hues that nature had bestowed upon the creature that once inhabited this shell.
Holding this small shell (5 cm - or 2 inches from front to back) in my hand one fails to notice the exquisite details in the pattern and structure of the shell. It's only once it's been photographed as a macro image and processed can we see all these features.
Many thanks to all who view, fave and comment on this image and the others in my photostream.
I noticed with every Resort hotel we visited on our trip, Jenea and I would usually be allowed time to explore and shoot photos by our large group of understanding family members. ;) We would disappear and then randomly catch up with members of our party along the way to head somewhere else. This was from my shooting after our wonderful breakfast at Whispering Canyon Cafe. This is the top section of one of the totem poles in the Wilderness Lodge's lobby. This was taken from the highest point we could be without having a reservation for a club level room. lol. I shot a bracket of this and tried my best to tone the HDR effect down and get the colors under control. This resort is pretty tough, as I found out, to shoot. The lighting is difficult and varying, but alas here it for your viewing pleasure. Please let me know what you think and all suggestions are welcome. Enjoy!
A model locomotive by Hornby entitled 'Queen Elizabeth II'. This was a Hornby Collectors' Club special edition model from a few years ago. I chose this to be a little different as I suspect there will be a large number of chess pieces, playing cards, coins and stamps this week. The portion of the locomotive shown is exactly 3" long.

Take your needle, my child, and work at your pattern; it will come out a rose by and by. Life is like that - one stitch at a time taken patiently and the pattern will come out all right like the embroidery. ~Oliver Wendell Holmes
Thanks to Kim Klassen for the use of your beautiful textures.
Happy Fence Friday - A late Summer Sunrise at the Barn and Crib - Five exposure HDR processed with Nik HDR Efex Pro 2
I had seen so many great dark and moody images from this place that I couldn't wait to get here. It was a sunny morning and the only mood was GOOD and CHEERY from the golfers driving to the near bye course and the sounds of Bluebirds chirping merrily. Maybe the next time........

Happy Slider Sunday - This was a glorious way to start a day! Five exposure HDR processed with Nik HDR Efex Pro 2. Further processing with Nik Color Efex Pro 4
Couldn't sleep this morning, (Thu 18th June), so I got up very early, (for me !), sat down and did this !
NB:
The tree image is not mine, it's from a magazine exercise from years ago.
The sky is one of Luminar 4's replacements.
The lightning is from Luminar 4's Augmented Sky section ... as are the birds.
The rain is a free download from the excellent Gary McIntyre (YouTube).
Hence the title ... An Imaginary View
An older photo from Costume Con 40 (April 2022). This costume struck me as being in the "Regency Era" and rousse is the feminine French word for "redhead." I know that this is not very original on my part but I don't know who the costumer is nor how to credit her so I came up with the most descriptive title I could.
I used Nik Software's Analog Efex Pro - Wet Plate to mimic elements of an older style photograph (not exactly a Daguerrotype but has some similarities).
UPDATE: Wow!! I did not expect this image to make it on to Flickr's Explore page! Thank you *so* much everybody for the kind & positive comments and faves!
