On the top one of the first pens for technical drawings (Pelikan Graphos) with multiple nibs from the fifties, below a stylus from FiftyThree for drawing apps on iPads.

Morning mists and I had the place to myself... or thought I had before her nibs on the right flew in shrieking and cackling. She'd bought a new air fryer apparently and was overjoyed with it.
A quick Halloween post so I don't miss the moment, but at a prehistoric site that has more myths and legends attached to it
than any other in Britain; many about witches and witchcraft.
I did touch one of the stones to see if they were beginning to move or build up an energy for the evening and I did indeed feel a disturbing sensation but then remembered I'd wolfed a bacon buttie for breakfast a little too quickly.
(There are always gifts to the stones and offerings to the ancestors at the Rollright Stones. On the foreground stone is a little bag of of something and they were dotted around the circle, and the central stone was covered with red cut flowers.)
One of the great joys of the Rollright Stones that shouldn't be underestimated is its complete lack of commercialisation.
We parked in the lay-by and then I simply wandered in, past the honesty box and explored the stones. I think the charge is £1 or something similar and I should explain that I do bung in a fiver in change now and again when I'm feeling flush because someone, someday will find a way of making money out of the site and set up a mind numbing 'heritage centre'.
Far more evocative and inspiring to let the imagination wonder.
A photo of my fountain pens ready for Macro Monday when the theme is "Pencils, Pens, Erasers and/or Paperclips".
Kroontjespen, Dutch for dip pen or nib pen.
A dip pen or nib pen usually consists of a metal nib with capillary channels like those of fountain-pen nibs, mounted in a handle or holder, often made of wood. Generally, dip pens have no ink reservoir, so the user must recharge the ink from an ink bowl or bottle to continue drawing or writing.
Dip pens emerged in the early 19th century, when they replaced quill pens and, in some parts of the world, reed pens. Dip pens were generally used before the development of fountain pens in the later 19th century, and are now mainly used in illustration, calligraphy, and comics.
The dip pen has certain advantages over a fountain pen. It can use waterproof, pigmented, particle-and-binder-based inks, such as India ink, drawing ink, and acrylic inks—each of which would destroy a fountain pen by clogging it—and the traditional iron gall ink, which can corrode fountain pens. Dip pens are also more sensitive to variations of pressure and speed, producing a line that naturally varies in thickness; and they can also produce a finer line than any fountain pen.
There is a wide range of exchangeable nibs for dip pens, so different types of lines and effects can be created. The nibs and handles are far cheaper than most fountain pens, and allow color changes much more easily.
She's just a handful, not quite enough to contain my ample breakfast of oatilicious goodness + fruit & cacao nibs.
There's something a little special about eating out of a handmade bowl even if it isn't as beautiful as I’d like.
Happy weekend everyone.

Since I'm on a diet I decided to make cookies for wine night. Terrible idea, great cookies. Chocolate chip with toasted walnuts, cacao nibs, and sea salt.

Now this is quite confusing - a NIBS Volvo B7TL operating on hire to New Horizon Travel, covering the school contracts recently taken over by Stephensons! The pair of NIBS East Lancs bodied B7TLs are running here, both having been repainted into the latest Stephenson's insired livery.
Although wearing the latest NIBS livery, this East Lncs bodied Volvo B7TL has transferred to the parent Stephensons fleet and is now working the former New Horizon school services from Frating
This week’s theme of point, made me think of my pens, and their nibs, as a pen collector I thought, the Point of a Pen is the Nib….which allows me to create and write, and use different coloured ink.
