Mint chocolate ganache macarons accented with Theo chocolate cacao nibs!
I made these for a catering event earlier this spring, while working at Portage Bay Café.
I bought some buckwheat for pancakes but wanted to find more uses for it. 101 Cookbooks came to the rescue as usual, with this wholesome recipe. I have to admit, it's nice to be roll these and then just slice them the next day. They keep very well, and prove that sometimes healthier cookies actually are more fulfilling for that sweet tooth.
A rare eight inch Disston no 5 dovetail saw featuring apple handle double nibs and hounds teeth. This saw is in good condition with a nicely shaped and fully intact handle and a arrow straight saw plate. The etch is partially intact. The lowest part of it is worn out but the upper portion is still very much there, albeit slightly faint.
The model no 5 is much less common than the no 4, as is the fact that the saw represents the much more sought after and less available eight inch saw plate.
This saw is filed at 15 TPI RPI and performs very nicely indeed. It has been resharpened with just a touch of slope to the teeth. The double nib on top of the handle and well as the hounds teeth below, typical for the model no 5, are still very sharply contoured. The same goes for the handle which has only smaller dents and no chips.
