The shot is taken yesterday morning, when visiting one of my irrigation projects as supervisor, the weather was extremely cold (-20 degrees C, equal to -4 F), there was a failure in sensor which stops pumping satations, and sprinkling continued for hours after the frost, which had led to a fantastic view, especially when I arrived the field at the time which the sun was still down.

The Horseshoe Bend is just a 5-minute drive south of Page, AZ. We originally didn't intend to go there, since we didn't realize how close it was. But we went to a pizza restaurant in Page the night before, and the owner came to the tables, telling people how near the Horseshoe Bend was, and that one should not miss to visit there. When he realized we were speaking German, he even had a German version of his pitch prepared...

Out for a walk on a Winters Day....

My Shadow is often nowhere to be seen...

She shyes away from the wind and the cold...

Preferes to stay inside where it's snug and warm...

But all it takes is a little break in the clouds...

To tempt her out for a visit...

The warmth of the suns rays cutting through the brisk air...

That dries the skies tears and brightens the soul..

Where there's Light.. there's Shadow...

And where's there's Warmth.. there's Sunshine!

Skaters on a bright cold Saturday morning on Norrviken ("North Lake") near Stockholm. A lap around is about 21 kilometers. This is great exercise. The ice appeared about as thick as big sofa cushion.

A lunchtime walk with my Shadow in the Park...

It seem like AGES since I've taken time out in the Park...

Even my Shadow decided she would make an appearance...

Haven't seen her around for a while...

It seems we have both been too busy with other things!

Life just seems to get like that at times...

Hopefully we will BOTH be around a bit more in the future.

It really IS nice to take time out to enjoy the fresh air and sunshine.

Wishing all my Flickr friends a Wonderful Weekend...

I hope you all can enjoy a little sunshine too...

Or make a little sunshine of your own if you can! %-)

Something that just came to me today while I was out walking...

In the morning, I walk my dogs. Cropped version of photo taken orginally for 52 Weeks of Pix. See first comment below. I think I like this cropped version better, but I also like my shadow appearing in the larger version. For 52 Weeks of Pix, I'm submitting the larger version, because it captures the morning walk better.

And sometimes, in the morning, I take a photo (but usually I'm too rushed). I also enjoy the morning light- but actually take few photos in the morning, given the busy flow of my work life. I always enjoy my morning walk with my dogs, however brief it is. Lisette is looking at me (I'm holding the camera down much lower than my face). Jake had been interested in a peacock down the street. Yes, we have wild peacocks in South Florida. See my set on Peacocks: www.flickr.com/photos/louiselindsay/sets/72157612650472297/

Lisette (10 yrs. old, standard poodle) on the left (leash is in back of her, she almost never runs away), and Jake, 1.5 yrs. old, on the right, after their morning walk. That's my shadow waving as I take their photo.

on the way to one of my irrigation project, from Neyshabour to Quchan.

This is from a walk around Old Salem a couple of Sundays ago. I wanted to shoot a roll of B&W. I really love the peaceful & tranquil setting of Old Salem. Timely, because it has such a feel of fall & of Thanksgiving.

For the past year I've been threatening to replace my car...

She's been a good old battler but is starting to get a bit worse for wear...

Having clocked over 210,000km now... she's starting to show her age...

Over the past couple of months I've spent $1000.00 on repairs!

Two weeks ago being the last straw... and the final nail in the coffin...

Last weekend we went to the car fair (for about the 3rd weekend in a row)....

And chanced upon this shiny red Toyota Camry at a good price...

Not exactly a 'new' car... but she'll do the trick for now! %-)

Not exactly my 1966 Ford Mustang or 1966 Thunderbird either....

But that's another story... well dream really! LOL! %-)

Today was her official first outing....

And I took her down to show Mum on my way to work...

Had a reflective Moment with her while I was there...

And thought I'd share it with you too! %-)

Dogs are such agreeable friends--they ask no questions, they pass no criticisms.

Out for another walk in the park with my Shadow....

She said she's feeling a little light headed today...

Looks to me like she's got too much water between the ears...

I think it's just attention seeking...

last week she was feeling a little drained ...

Another excuse to stop for a rest!

Sometime I can see right through her!

It's nice to have her company when I'm out though! %-)

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend amongst good company! %-)
