Summer Card Camp 2 Week 2 Day 3. My inspiration for this card came from Julie's super cute bird card. It is based on the third sketch. The border is hand drawn using a brown Copic Multiliner. The scattered stamped circles were made with lids from a tape runner and a Copic multiliner. The dots were stamped with the tip of a paint brush. They were all made using Ranger Archival Ink in sepia. The little bird and the wreath were die cut using Memory Box wafer thin dies. I added tiny flowers cut with the Memory Box flower mound. The blue background was a piece of watercolour paper that I created using Distress Inks. The card base is made from Stampin' Up Natural White cardstock.

Note: My friend (who went home today) named the grey squirrel Miss Madge Twitch. She is a very prim and proper squirrel who avoids the crazy antics engaged in by the small army of black squirrels in the yard. :3
The stay-cation with my friend and the quick doodles for maintaining of the project is over so it's time to focus and get back to the drawing board!
Drawn with copic multiliners onto inexpensive light blue cardstock. Some areas bleached light. Some areas colored with dark blue and lime green gel pens and highlighted with opaque white gel pen.

Today's challenge is 'my favourite tool.' This is my favourite memory stick, because it has the long cord to wear around my neck. So I don't leave it in a computer somewhere and lose it. It is so old that it cost me $85. Seems bizarre now.

6/3/12 I'm not sure if it's OK to post sketches of locations outside of Seattle, but I'll take a chance. I was in L.A. over the weekend and visited the fabulous Getty Museum. I drew this with Copic Multiliner, then watercolour. I did a bit a Prismacolour scribble across the screen of the phone for a resist. The silver parts are done with a silver Pitt Pen, and I used a white biro for the writing.
I bought this little lamp in Suva on one of my long holidays staying with a friend who was living there at the time.I guess it originally comes from India. I thought it would be fun to draw and it was.
-and I also used one of Tammy's 3 word prompt sets of 'Space, Chevron & Lime'.
I used gel pens, coloured pencils a Copic multiliner and a fine liner. I also used my clear Wink of Stella to put snow on the distant mountains, (shame that sparkle doesn't show in photos). I called my motel Open Space because of the open space around it, but also because each room is quite spacious. I think a motel like this would be a fun place to stay :D

200103: During the Christmas holidays I cleaned up my apartment and removed used stamps from the paper (I had two shoe boxes with undetached stamps.) It was lots of work, but I'm happy that I finally did it. Now they "only" have to be sorted.
200104: I bought a care product for the new Panama Jack shoes. I didn't even know that these classic tins with the side opener still exist.

200103: In der Weihnachtsferien habe ich meine Wohnung aufgeräumt und zwei Schuhkartons mit umabgelösten Briefmarken abgelöst. Das war unglaublich viel Arbeit, aber ich freue mich, dass ich das endlich mal geschafft habe. Jetzt müssen sie "nur noch" sortiert werden.
200104: Ich habe mir für die neuen Panama Jack Schuhe ein Pflegeprodukt gekauft. Ich wusste gar nicht, dass es diese klassischen Dosen mit dem seitlichen Öffner noch gibt.

200126: Last weekend we were walking on the beach. There were also many dog owners out and let their dogs play around. In the heat of the moment, a very thick brown Labrador rammed my knee with full force. I had to limp on the way back because it hurt a lot. But in the meantime it is almost good again.

200126: Letztes Wochenende waren wir am Strand spazieren. Es waren auch viele Hundebesitzer unterwegs und ließen ihre Hunde toben. Im Eifer des Gefechts rammte ein sehr dicker brauner Labrador mit voller Wucht mein Knie. Ich musste auf dem Rückweg humpeln, weil es ziemlich weh tat. Mittlerweile ist es aber fast wieder gut.

Note: If I lived in Japan I would be a rabid sumo fan. Until you witness this sport live there is no way to appreciate the clash of muscle and will power, as well as pomp and ceremony, involved. It's fast. It's furious. It's amazing!

200209: The water was pushed out of the fjord because of the wind, and the beach had a great structure! We had hoped to see more kiters on the water in Laboe because of the southeast wind, but maybe the storm was too strong for them. The seagulls were happy about the storm, many shells were washed ashore. What else? The snowdrops and crocuses are already in bloom, and the hazelnut blossom has also begun.

200209: Das Wasser wurde wegen des Windes aus der Förde gedrückt, und der Strand hatte eine tolle Struktur! Wir hatten wegen des Südostwindes eigentlich mit mehr Kitern auf dem Wasser in Laboe gehofft, aber vielleicht war denen der Sturm zu krass. Die Möwen freuten sich über den Sturm, es wurden viele Muscheln an Land gespült. Was noch? Die Schneeglöckchen und die Krokusse blühen schon, ebenso hat die Haselnussblüte begonnen.

Yesterday the city was full of shiny vintage cars on display. I only had a relatively short time to sketch and this is one of the two I chose. The flag was actually on the car behind, but being Australia Day I wanted to have to flag in my sketch. I left the white space around this one because I liked it that way.

Note: Nothing much to add to where my head was at for this beyond saying that it was a very cold day to be standing round a cemetery.
Tried out the Copic MultiLiner SP today and...wow...narrowest tip I've tried yet. I'm not yet sure of the endurable nature of this ink or nib, but it works well in the Epsilon journal. With replaceable tips and cartridges it seems that it will make an excellent travel pen for very fine work.
200101: We had a relaxed start to the new year - the sun was shining and we were running. Then we went for a walk and I discovered beautifully blooming winter jasmine.
200102: I finally met my friend Stephi again - we made an appointment in Hoi An for a delicious meal.
