Second and third-grade students from Riverside Elementary School in Dublin, Ohio, participated in a unique multi-part study of plants at COSI on Friday, November 1, 2013. Their visit included a guided exploration of COSI's outdoor prairie with Robin Dungan, COSI Manager of Education Services, where the students examined Ohio's native flora. One plant they examined in particular is the Virginia Mountain Mint, which has a perfectly square stem. The students also participated in a flower dissection in COSI's Lily Pad lab space, led by COSI Outreach Educators Tyler Fox and Nick Steinbrecher, where they examined the tiny components that make up a flower. This special hands-on program was funded by a writing grant from The Ohio State University. COSI is Columbus, Ohio's dynamic Center of Science and Industry. Foundries producing medium to very large volumes of castings on high-speed molding lines demand large volumes of prepared sand and maximum productivity from the sand plant. The Simpson Multi-Mull is specifically designed to provide medium to very large volumes of high-quality molding sand on a continuous basis and utilizes the same effective mulling technique as the Simpson Mix-Muller.

My first attempt at photographing smoke and man its not easy ... manages to get some decent shots after taking about 200+ pictures. These three are some of the best ..
I initially converted this photo in B&W using Channel Mixer but I didnt like the result at all. So I decided to a different technique of muting the color instead. I haven't done this technique for a while now and I am happy with the results.

Rocket...the dark side.
Rocket's energy level is very high, so despite the long walks, he sometimes ricochets off the walls shortly after we get home. I can't always walk him for four to five hours as he would like, and limit his walk to an hour or two as I would with a dog on a schedule.
When he hasn't had enough outdoor exercise time, he gets antsy and drives me nuts running up and down the walls in this small apartment, so I play with him. He LOVES wands, so we have several of them and "wand play", it seems, helps to discharge his battery.
I discovered the "wand aggression" sometime ago when I introduced a second wand at he same time he held the first one. While in this video he may seem disturbed, he really isn't. He's "spent" after several minutes into this style of "play"; is totally relaxed afterward and does not redirect the wand aggression toward me; I can stop at any time and pick him up without a problem, but it helps tremendously to unwind him if he doesn't get enough time outside.
