These murals were the start of what would be a short lived exploration in self employment. Maybe I will try being a muralist again someday.

My small and favourite cafe and the last picture I took for "A Day in the Life"... as I was tired... but I had fun at the film festival party later.

Done during the big October rain storm of October ought-nine, this step in the process will take one day to setup and dry.

A modified cruciform plan, the main level features an oversized two car garage, mudroom, kitchen, dining area, and great room. Also featured is the sun space den. The plan arrangement allows for a relaxed and comfortable, perhaps barefoot, family living. All enter into a light and bright mudroom where there is a bench and hooks to hang coats, sweaters, etc. From the mudroom entry one can obtain a clear sense of the spatial organization of the home and go to where they want.

The speaker wire I ran is coiled on a wall stud until drywall. The guys put a conduit in here for me (black pipe in the middle of the picture). It goes all the way from the mechanical room below, through the wall and up to the attic. There is an access box here we will drywall around. If we need to run any more cable we can bring it through this way and drop it down into interior walls from the attic. It's becoming a wireless world but I had to do some future proofing. The guys have also run conduit up to either side of the fireplace so I can have access in those corners...for monster speakers :-)

thought it might be a cool office area but it's now been dubbed the mudroom. i have a lot of ideas for this room, but right now it belongs to the cats.

This is the mudroom and it is a disaster right now because the dogs have been sleeping in there along with 4 cats. Eventually they will get a dog house. This is the room you have to walk into to reach our entry door into the house.

Took the old chipped rusty radiator from the kitchen and put it in the mudroom with new silver paint.
