I’m back! Doing a quick post and run but looking forward to catching up with you all in the next few days. This was a lenticular cloud show I witnessed at mt rainier in September. It was the largest lenticular I’ve ever laid my eyes on. Hope everyone has an excellent weekend of shooting. Happy Friday! 

Distant view of Aoraki / Mt Cook around sunrise on a chilly morning. At 3,724 m, Mt Cook is New Zealand's highest mountain. The body of water is called Lake Pukaki, one of NZ's hydro lakes.

Looming not far from Taormina in Sicily is this. Thanks for viewing.

In 1845 Cincinnati's Robert Bonner Bowler, a dry goods entrepreneur, developed his 79 acre estate that overlooks the Mill Creek Valley. He hired Apolpa Strauch. away from the Vienna Imperial Gardens to design his Temple of Love. The Corinthian style pergola, shown above, covered the crown of his private reservoir. The estate had 17 greenhouses, gardens, orchards, a waterfall and a swan lake with 7 black swans. In 1917 Cincinnati acquired the grounds and razed every except the wine cellar and the pergola. Today the 59 acre Mt Storm Park has a WPA built overlook with restrooms, a picnic area, playground and walking trails.

An incredible sight of amazing peak of Dunagiri or Dronagiri at dusk. The pink hues made the atmosphere more attractive.

西吾妻山

Last year, I climbed Mt. Nishiazumayama, but I couldn't see the summit due to a whiteout. Today, I entered from Tengendai Ski Resort and it was amazing to see so many monsters in the warm, clear weather. They're called Little Monsters because they're smaller than Zao, but they're buried under nearly 3 meters of snow.

Mt. Fitz Roy or Cerro Chalten (The smoking mountain) as the locals call it, was just waking up to some nice dappled light when I took this shot. This peak was first climbed in 1952 and it remains among the most technically challenging mountains on Earth for mountaineers, thanks to its sheer granite face and extraordinary high winds.

北横岳(2,480m)から見る蓼科山(2,531m)

I captured this image of Mt. Rainier in 2018 during a glorious night with rather strong airglow. The reddish haze above the horizon on the left is smoke from wildfires in the south.

Somehow, I never posted this shot, but recently rediscovered it after a little mishap with my computer and decided it was still worth posting after all this time. I hope you agree.

One of the pictures I took years ago from the porch of the Inn at Longmire Washington.. Mt Rainier was the very first mountain I ever saw and I loved it at first sight.. Processed with an updated version of Dynamic Auto Painter...

A few weeks ago at the age of 64 I walked up Mt Snowdon for the first time. This is a photo I took at the top of the Pyg Track where it joins the Llanberis Path.

Nature reclaims what was once was devastated by the explosion of Mt St. Helens from 1980.

Hiking Mt. Takao with my wife last week, 500 meters up and 12 km back and forth.

She looks calm here, but trust me, we were both exhausted. :-)

Have a great week ahead my friends!

Driving through Stokksnes, Iceland. - An old shot from my Iceland trip in 2014.

I struggled with this for awhile the sun was so strong on Mt Cook, getting the exposure right was difficult. It also made the sky look fake when I played with the processing so I ended up doing a more artistic look.

A lovely Sunday visit to Mt. Lorette Ponds. A friend surprised me with a lovely drive along Highway 40 and a picnic.

1年ぶりに赤城山主峰、黒檜山(標高1828m)に登ってきました。

この日はとても天気が良く、青い空と、白樺の木に付いた霧氷が美しかったです。

山頂標識が新しくなっていました。

I have climbed Mt. Akagi Mountain for the first time in a year, Black Hiyozan (altitude 1828 m).

It was very fine weather on this day, blue sky and fog ice on white birch tree were beautiful.

The mountaintop sign became new.

Have a wonderful day!

Alpine glow on Mt. Moran, Grand Teton National Park. Composition and good light are all you need to make good images. Composition can help balance poor light and awesome light can make ordinary compositions look great.

Happy thanks giving all.

The next day we climbed the one on the right. The peaks are Batian, Nelion and Point Lenana.

Milkyway Over Mt. Tam

I had been want this composition since I started to photograph low fog in Mt. Tam, but had been kicked out by the ranger due to late in Sunset hours. Glad I can stay late for this time and cross out this from my bucket list.
